Ranma 1/2 probably inspired various other works... However I guess it was in turn inspired by Cinderella Boy (a 1980 manga by Monkey Punch, author of Lupin the third), which has been adapted into a 13 episodes anime in 2003... You might want to give it a try. I don't want to spoil anything, but one of the two protagonists is named Ranma.

@@marvinwilkins thats because the minovsky particles used to encase the plasma from the beam saber are programmed to respond to intense heat by hardening itself, that's the reason the beam can maintain it shape instead of just wobbling around like a plasma torch would when you swing it around

Ep 1 of this show is best example how powerful and terrifing the gundam was for Zeon during war and why it was so much ptsd even if they dont meet it.

@@ScottReport overall what i like of this story, is that is not just over despair. Everyone fight for survival while doing their duties, and is not a tragedy like thunderbolt, o igloo, when you knew a test pilot was going to die, before he even step his foot into the cockpit

IGLOO's Mecha battles are good/great and the multiple stories are decent. It's just the weird uncanny-valley facial expressions & gestures of the human characters that turn people off.

I actually like Ms Igloo 2's animation. The face animations felt like those japanese war or medieval films where they shout out crazily and exaggerate actions going into battle. Ms Igloo 2 is way better than the first igloo.

I adore Isekai, but if that's not your genre I can 100 percent get where you're coming from. When the genres you DO love aren't getting enough attention it can be frustrating. I used to get that issue a lot because I love turn based RPGs and they aren't always the most popular gaming genre.

We should all keep a happy birthday kill count, cuz it's at 2 so far. And probably more to come. Also we are all either feeling for Guel or clowning on him, but thinking back I don't think he's actually a bad pilot at all. Maybe let's his emotions get to him, but not necessarily bad. Former number one in the school. He's just taken three Ls from literal monsters. Theory time: a lot of people are saying that Eri from the prologue is the gundam and the mc is someone new. I think it might just be that Eri's mom put her 4 year old mind into the gundam, wiping it and causing her to start from a fresh Suletta with no memory. I think in the prologue she was 4 and in the main series she is 17. If her mom took everything at the age of 4 and that is the new starting point, i.e. her "new birth", then the 21 years makes sense (17+4). Also since watching the scene where her mom said "my dear daughter" I liked the idea that she was referring to the gundam (Eri/the part of Suletta locked away) and not necessarily the Suletta we know.

Good analysis, I also think Elan got upset because his hope of finding someone like him was ruined. Perhaps he can learn to develop a friendship with others as the series continues, but Cyber-Newtypes don't have the best luck in terms of reaching the epilogue.
