You can also sew the holes closed with an ordinary needle and white thread. Won't be perfect (unless you are an expert sewer, I guess) but covers up the black plastic and makes it much less noticeable, especially from a distance which is how you'll usually be looking at them anyway. I also used laundry soaker instead of washing up liquid which removed some of the more stubborn stains.

I had the HP DV 2000 but I just bought a v3000 on Facebook Marketplace. Plan on seeing if I can get it to use 8 gb of ram and I plan to install windows 11 on the SSD or put one in from a probook I already upgraded to win 11. Can’t remember if this series had usb boot as an option.

If you are wondering the max upgrades for these Compaq Presario V3000/V6000, max CPU and RAM for Intel version is a Core 2 duo T7600 (T7200 recommended) and 3GB of RAM (If you put 4GB only 3GB will be usable), AMD version max CPU and RAM is Turion 64 X2 TL-68 and 8GB of RAM (Recommended TL-60 and 4/6GB of RAM). Both will take SSD's perfectly fine. Windows 10 will run alright on the Intel version with the upgrades, but a fair bit better on the AMD version (Use nvidia driver 259.32), but 64 bit version is not recommended on just 3GB of RAM. V3500/V6500/V3600/V6600 Intel version is much better with support for Core 2 duo T9500 and 8GB of RAM, much faster than both above and motherboard is a drop-in upgrade if you have Intel version heatsink. AMD version is just more of the same as the older AMD version above but just slightly newer Geforce 7150M graphics. All Intel versions will only run RAM up to 667mhz (can support 800mhz sticks though) while AMD version can do 800Mhz with a CPU upgrade.

Not sure where did you got your facts but many sites States that maximum RAM memory is 2 Giga since is DDR 1 if remember correctly. I have a Presario V2000 Turion 64. Always wondered what kind of upgrades can be achieved beyond memory increase. An NVME upgrade is possible?

@@enterBJ40 V2000 AMD is VERY different from V3000 AMD. V2000 is original Socket 754 Turion 64 single core only and has only single channel DDR1 RAM as well as ide and pci support, that thing can hence only take 2gb of ram and performance is only as good as pentium M if you got a decent chip. V3000/V6000 on the other hand, has Socket S1G1 with support for dual cores, pci express, sata, and DDR2 controller is BUILT INTO the CPU! Even my Sempron equipped V6000 was successfully upgraded to Turion 64 X2 TL60 (65nm Tyler), 8GB DDR2 at full 800mhz, and a SATA SSD of course. I have the Pavilion dv8000 amd with basically same specs as a V2000 and honestly there's no way to make it usable for daily tasks today by my standards. CPU is only half as fast as TL60 at best, RAM is only 1/4 as fast (single channel only) and only 1/4 as much in amount, ide drives only, and platform as a whole is much more dated. You can put msata ssds (NOT M.2) with ide adapter but compatibility with the ati ide controller is very hit or miss.

Fantastic video, thank you! I didn't follow your exact methods but did use the dish soap and it made them vibrant. I just used any old soap and it worked a treat. Tools wise I found that using a screwdriver with a very wide head worked extremely easy, just very gently pry from the bottom of the speaker with a very light twist. Any resistance then just move around the edges and give another gente pry so the parts that are a bit stuck come loose. The first speaker was the trickiest but after that I could pop them off in seconds. They have gone from yellow to vibrant white, very happy.

Hello i just wanna say thank you so much i had this problem some couple weeks back and called LG, they said i need a led panel replacement which will cost me 500 $ Then i tried finding independent service guy, he said its the tcon itll cost me 300 $ or he can buy the tv from me for 200 $ I did your trick and my tv is like brand new and saved all those cost from those scams
