The 1080p thing is bs. My underwater videos look way better when i upload them as a reel in 4k. Seems like instagram compresses them better than capcut.

I recorded in cinematic mode on my iPhone 15 pro in 4K 30 FPS. I exported from CapCut mobile in 4K 60 fps. I uploaded to instagram and it’s choppy, but on TikTok it looks amazing. I don’t understand their rendering. Any thoughts?

You will want to export in 30fps not 60fps. It’s choppy because it’s lacking frames in the footage. If that makes sense.

Yes that make sense in theory. The confusion is why was it not choppy on TikTok but it was choppy on IG? But no matter because I have already exported it in 4K 30fps before seeing this message and it seemed to correct. Thank you so much for the feedback and the very timely response. I tried exporting everything max, 1080 without HDR and 1080 with HDR. The ting I noticed was that on instagram is 1080 with HDR the best and on tiktok is everything max with HDR the best.

Not a stupid question at all. And ya it’s pretty similar. Biggest thing is trying to avoid the app compressing your video file. So exporting in the correct resolution for the platform is key.
