Don't worry. You will be working next to engineers for those UC schools you wanted to go to. SJSU is very underrated for sure... Maybe if SJSU lowered their acceptance rate people would appreciate it more. I loved my time at SJSU and I ended up working with people from Stanford and Cal...but with zero debt.

Unfortunately, or fortunately for you, you had good experience with friends and social life because you are beautiful. If you weren't so cute, I don't think you would've had the same experience.

You made the right choice. I also went to SJSU, while working on the side. Now I went to state almost 12 years ago and tuition was $2-3K per semester, no room and board since I commuted to school. I graduated in 4 years with ZERO Student debt and because of that I was able to make investments which allowed me to purchase my first home (in SF) which snowballed into more real estate in the Bay Area and Sacramento. The earlier you start investing, the better off you'll be. I still have friends in their 30's paying off 5-6 figure student debt (graduated from UC's), while I was able to invest in MYSELF at the onset of my career and live student debt free. In my line of work, no one cares where you graduated from. The only thing that matters is what you KNOW. SJSU isn't a low-tier school either, especially for engineering, business - accounting and nursing majors. During my internship, which eventually turned into a full-time offer, I was in a start group with other students from: UCLA, Berkley, Cal Poly, UCSD and even Stanford. The only difference? My education was 1/20th of the cost, if not more and we ALL made the same money coming out of college. Going to SJSU was a no brainer for me.
