Tennis has always been about the Slams and nothing else. Andy Murray has two Olympic Gold Medals in singles and is he considered the best. NOoooo.. When a player is injured they miss tournament not the Slam as noone wants to win tournaments and not Slams. The person with the most Slams is considered the best, not the person with the most titles other wise Jimmy Connors would be considered the best player and is he? NOoooo.. Many a player missed Olympic 2024 because they did not want to go from one surface to another so quickly and risk injury because the Slam was more important..Apart from the Slams the rest is just fillers and nothing to really boast about unless you have the Slams to back it up and N0va1< does. End Of Story.

@@Prostaff90 I know that Federer never defaulted a match , he did withdraw a few times the most infamous being the 2014 ATP Finals he should have played against Novak but yes he never retired during a match , tho I don't know why that is exactly a big deal ? If you start the match and retire 1 point after you lose the match and have a loss in the head to head so it is the same outcome as just losing anyway . Nobody I think is saying that Federer's game wasn't a beaty to watch , he is my second favorite player after Novak and Federer had the most beautiful attacking tennis I have ever seen , but that is not to say he didn't have his own shortcomings either . He had more flaws than Novak and Nadal despite being the best offensive player of all time . I respect all the big 3 despite not being a fan of Nadal for example but that doesn't matter , they are the 3 best players I have seen in my life and have earned my eternal respect . Despite Novak being my favorite and me being Serbian so that is no surprise either that doesn't mean we have to be tribal about our favorite and dunk on the others . I'm 31 not some kid so I have learned to respect and appreciate Novak's 2 biggest rivals . I also always try to be as objective as possible and I didn't always consider Novak the GOAT , he had to earn it , its only during 2020 that I started putting him above Federer and Nadal and now there really is no question with all his records that he is the GOAT regardless of preference .

There are still a few records that Novak has to break: he has 1 more Wimby to win to tie with Roger and 2 to suprass him. He has 1 US open to win to suprass Nadal and tie Roger at that slam. Also, he has to win 2 more US opens to suprass Roger in US open titles. He has to win 1 more RG to break his own record of winning triple career slam. He has to win one Monte Carlo more to break another his own record of having all masters titles at least twice, and to have in three times which is insane, considering that Roger and Rafa didn't ever won all master even once. But, even without it, if he retires now, he will be remembered as a goat

@@Heavenly_Father Also back in her day Margaret Court won all those A/O slams as many players unlike todays players simply could not afford the trip to Australia. Very different back then. So this helped her heaps to win so many slams. Funny how they mention steffi winning the golden slam but noone seems to know that she is not the only one as this feat was also done by Dylan Alcott in 2021 Paralympics but I suppose because he is a cripple people will not acknowledge this. Also many consider Nadal or Federer to be the best yet Novak was still able to win more slams than these guys and have a winning head to head against them to. And Carlos too but off course that won't last as Carlos just starting out while Novak on the decline. But now cos he has the Gold which by the way was thrown at his face for so long that he did not have one they now find other things to pick at but in the end they are the sore losers. Novak became the oldest man to win singles Gold and beating the pump up Carlos in straight sets and now he has not one but two Olympic medals. From what I read he isn't fussed if he does not win another slam as his motivation is not all there as he now wants to be with his family more than on the courts.
