People knock checy gm but the 2.2l and 2.4l were very reliable and easy to work on no matter if was on the s10 sonoma pickup truck, cavalier, sunfire, buick models. If looking for cheap transportation in 2024 dont over look a 1994-2005 4cyl pickup, or car with 2.2l or 2.4l especially if has the 5sp manual transmission. I bought in 2024 in Arizona a 1998 sonoma 2.2l 5sp 120k miles $2k, and a 2004 cavalier 2.2l 5sp 75k miles $1k.

For safety, when safety is added, suggest safety frame around pulleys, kill switch, and longer chute. Any other safety ideas?

I'm planing to build one similar but use a gas motor on it for more power so I can dump 55 gallon drums full of cans through at once and it will load my trailer as it crushes them

Worth a try but those damn bleeders always seem to be so brittle. Probably intentional so you'll buy new calipers.

I just performed this installation on my '97 Ram 2500. Thanks for the great guidance. I discovered a couple things in the process. The aftermarket dash I ordered did not perfectly line up with the screw holes on the air duct outlets. There was no way to really see this once I had partially installed the dash, though. I spent a long frustrating time trying blindly to start screws into holes that weren't possible. Fortunately, my truck had a cracked windshield. So, I removed the windshield so I could see everything easily. Had to reshape some of the screw holes on the duct outlets to match the dash cover. Went smoothly after that. Advice is to buy an OEM dash, which should be more precisely made. Also, test fit the ductwork to the dash before you attempt the installation.

I want to put automotive disk on M with hydraulic calipers. Mine has these brakes. Have had Super C's that new disk didn't do anything after a hard week of working, they glaze over and are useless. Not sure if these are the same way as the Super C disk brakes. But if it had automotive disk with hydraulic, and cable parking.

I have nearly the same pickup. 97 SLT 5.2 in crimson. My dash is cracked just a bit and I found a good one at the junkyard for $40. Using your video I pulled it, and using your video I will install the replacement. Cheers.

Instead of hammering the axle out of the hub, I connect a vise grip that has a sliding hammer attached to it. Less abuse to the steel.
