Great video, Chris. That really did look like a cool record store, there was a lot of albums I have been interested in just in that short stack that you flipped through, and the prices were decent too. A lot of great stuff there. I've travelled close to that area before, but going from Sudbury to Whitby, during a white out. I know how scary and frustrating it can be when the roads around there can be shut down and traffic can get backed up really bad. But I'm glad you were able to salvage the trip anyway and that you stayed safe during that harrowing trip. Other than the No Name record, I don't think I've heard of any of those bands, but I always love checking out new stuff, especially if it's Canadian or local artists, so I've had my share of both great blind buys and awful blind duds. I'll be checking out some of the bands you feature here, our tastes are pretty similar, so whatever you recommend, I'm willing to give a try. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Merry Christmas Mike! Yes, we do have similar tastes, I feel the same about anything that you would recommend. I think you’d enjoy any of those albums I showed, particularly the 49th Parallel and Plastic Cloud. They both had recent reissues so it would be easier to find them. I love when they reissue older hard to find albums. Cheers buddy!

Hey Chris, I know all to well what that trip is like. I take Highway 11 from Cochrane to Southern Ontario every summer. We usually make a pit stop near Gravenhurst on our way down. You have some pretty cool finds here. That Haunted album looks pretty neat. Cheers, Darryl.

Chris, it would seem that the vinyl gods had decided that you were not to go to Toronto. The first piece of road construction should have been a hint but you kept going so they kept throwing more stuff in your way. Your perseverance was amazing but eventually they brought out people with guns. That was such a cool record store, who doesn’t like one that has dead animals lol. Thanks for the super cool tool. Blind buys are always a gamble. I do have the Plastic Cloud, they seemed to have made a dent in the US

Hey Steve! Yes, the vinyl gods can be very insistent sometimes. I should have listened, but they lead me to this cool shop. I really enjoy taking risks on blind buys, but usually they aren’t sealed new and in large quantities. This was an exception, but I’m very happy with the result. Thanks for stopping by!

Plastic Cloud's self titled album is often considered to be Canada's greatest contribution to psych music. And originals are incredibly expensive. In fact, originals of any of those albums you purchased are very expensive.

Please Daddy by John Denver is an interesting one. I know some people that take it as a serious kind of sad song because it rings true to alcoholism in their families. Always interested to hear how people interpret it. Babel was the last Mumford album i was interested in. Steady as She Goes Cooks! Great seeing y'all together!

Huge congratulations to you and Anika! And what better wedding gifts than vinyl! McGregor Kenobi, okay I think we might be onto something their for Star Wars Chapter 24 or something. I remember Please Daddy Don't Get Drunk This Christmas. Depressing song lol, especially for John Denver. I have one of Mumford & Sons albums, they are a nice indie-folk band with banjo, something you don't hear often in rock music. Love The Raconteurs, that is a great album and I also have Help Us Stranger. Love Arcade Fire too, but I only have Neon Bible on CD. The closest thing I have to a Taylor Swift album is Ryan Adams take on her "1984" album where he covers the entire album. Now Chris, don't have an argument about money already. Plenty of time for that. Cool, I just picked up that War of the Worlds album. Nice find with the Arthur Brown album, I know it's different, but I love it, though I haven't got a copy yet. Another cool pick up with Andromeda. Of course, the personalized wedding album would be on white vinyl, nice touch! I agree, I think I'll get married to my wife again too lol. Thanks Dave! It’s a good rock album but their second one “Consolers of the Lonely” is my favourite by them. Some really solid rockers on that one from start to finish. Now if only they would get started on another release in 2025!

Love you both . This was a very much anticipated video. Amazing albums. Anika, I thought you would have mentioned, Lady Marmalade, for Moulin Rouge. That was a song we used to dance to, as a family, a long time ago. Chris, “the raconteurs” I think I saw this at a record store in Orillia, didn’t know that was a Jack White band. I especially liked seeing your wonderful wedding gift albums. And , yes, please ,please,please, Anika, make some more videos with Chris .❤
