Thank you for these videos! My niece is auditioning. I was wondering if you had an idea of the appropriate rigor for an audition piece (for any instrument.) What were your child’s audition pieces? (I’m assuming the clarinetist is your child, I apologize if not.)

I find it unnatural to play the timpani drums in the German configuration. Why ? Because all keyboard instruments have the low notes on the left hand side and the high notes on the right hand side.It would make total sense to configure the timpani drums in like manner.

@jmwoods190
@jmwoods190 2 жыл бұрын
@@celloburnslongerthanviola3156 Also remember that the 'wrong' way is also the same as how the toms are arranged in a drum set, as well as how double bass strings are arranged, so it makes far more sense than Richard has stated above. And for me the choice is merely a matter of which gives me physiological advantage and what suits my performing settings best, and either way can be right!

Steve called this combo "The Sweet Band". After Brian left, got sick and eventually passed away it could not ever have been the same and the way it was from 1971 to 1978. Still, this concert was a lot of fun and a great party.
