Most men will tell you that it's the women in their lives who keep the stigma going. If anything, I can open up more about my troubles to my close friends than I could to any girl I dated/married. Studies have shown that when surveyed, the vast majority of women say they lose respect and consider their men weaker if they see them cry.

My role model growing up was my grandpa, i only remember seeing him cry one time. I saw him go through so much but never shed a tear infront of me. That was a powerful moment. And the thing that broke him was my grandma was in the hospital and went unresponsive.. that was powerful to me. Luckily my soon to be wife always makes sure i know i have a safe place to express any emotion i need to and i thank God for her every day.
