It's not, Infinite custom games are doing great, MCC is still active, Custom Edition is also still played and there are a bunch of fan projects in the works. Yeah, Infinite never got the planned campaign updates, but the story ended with Halo 3 anyway. The fan fictions that are Halo 4 & 5 simply can't be built on, if you replace Infinite's intro with the Halo 3 Dawn, then there would be a chance to built on it even with the 1.0 campaign that Infinite is still is on.

I’m a bit iffy on this. So a 343i employee (who got fired) is talking mess about one of the guys who fired him? On one hand it could be that Halo Studios is just 343i with a new coat of paint. On the other hand this guy is just salty that he got fired. I mean we all know that a tone of 343i employees did not understand Halo; they tried bringing Metroid into Halo, they tried bring CoD into Halo, they tried to sell us a game where they replaced the main character with another character. So if 343i creativity mean changing everything, then Pier stopping them from doing that is a good thing. Notice how he mentions the “they pay well part” of course, because that guy only worked on Halo for money. Pier turned MCC from a dumpster fire into a great game. When all the 343i employees were cut, guess what BTB was fixed all of a sudden. But what has Pier’s team done? They showed us a breathtaking vision of Halo running on Unreal, and the possibilities where they could go.
