As someone mentioned below, if you have the model with out the number pad, just press and hold were the # should be. It seems to work. Had me confused for a bit

Great video, thank you! Couple of very poor design choices with this printer. First, when the toner level is low and the printer has a message stating that, the fan NEVER turns off. So the printer is constantly drawing power and making the loud noise of the fan. Second, when this error message of low toner is up, you CANNOT turn off the printer to stop the fan either. Doing this reset, allowed the fan to turn off and also for me to turn the printer off if I wanted to. However, with the fan no longer making so much noise I decided to leave it on until I can replace the toner. All that said, the toner is still printing perfectly fine pages!

IT WORKED!!!!!!! I am so very happy. I purchased mine on facebook market for just $15 and after printing about 700 sheets of paper it stopped on me. ugghhhh i was so bummed lol Now I can get back to using my printer :-)

I've seen text instructions for how to reset the "replace toner" message on a Brother printer, but those all seemed to be written for printers with a different control panel from mine. Your HL-L2740DW's control panel is near-identical to that on my HL-L2380DW, and your instructions worked. I really appreciate the visual walkthrough of how to fix this issue!
