This is interesting and stuff.. But the BIG question iis how do i get hold of a steam !? Have been searching without success for two years now, need a shorter one since the recommendations from felt are bad as fkk!!

Unfortunately, Felt has gone through a bunch of structural changes and their supplier network has suffered as a result.

@@alfabethev2.074 If you don't have luck with a Felt dealer, I would look at the FSA ARC stem or the Deda Superbox. They should give the option of pretty similar fitment, but you may have to fuss with the front brake hose...that's more of a challenge with that routing design.

Great video thank you for sharing. After you had re-dished the wheel did you aim to achieve the same spoke tensions as before the re-dish on either side or did you try to get them to be even?
@t00thygr1n
@t00thygr1n Жыл бұрын
You will have different tensions on each side due to different bracing angles of the spokes. My goal was to finish with even and reasonable tensions for each side. You will only expect even tensions on a rear wheel with a completely symmetrical single speed wheel or possibly if you move up into non-standard hub widths designed for equal bracing angles.

It's very odd how hard it was to locate the right mount. Wth, Felt? barflybike.com/products/bar-fly-race-direct

If you could be so kind, how wide is the stem where it clamps to the bar? I'm planning for a future build with clip-on aero bars but I need to know widths to get a bar with enough clamping length. thanks!
@t00thygr1n
@t00thygr1n 3 жыл бұрын
Super wide! I actually filed about 2mm of each side of the back of stem clamp to avoid the possibility of damaging the bar and causing stress risers. It's not a completely straight edge, but 48mm minimum.

With the Pro Vibe, there is zero room. The OEM Devox bar is marginally wider (5mm?) before the transition to aero profile starts, but it provides no room for clip on bars.

@@t00thygr1n it looked wide (the stem) - this is helpful and gives me a start to do some math. I might have a bar that will work.

Noticed that faceplate is upside down, but I'll fix that when the Garmin mount gets installed. Barfly is maybe the only current supplier of that specific Garmin mount.
