Thank you. I bought the EE9 a month back, and won’t have an opportunity to try it until ice-out here in MI. I’ve watched several open-water videos demonstrating this unit, and one question keeps popping up in my mind. Wouldn’t the image be enhanced by limiting the forward range to a more practical setting? I’m thinking setting the range to 30 or 40 ft (instead of 50 or 100), and that should expand the screen images to more of the screen at say 15-20 feet away from the boat, instead of just crowding everything into a small corner. Thank you, I intend to fish some of the marinas, like you, for panfish as soon as the ice goes out. PS. One question: what pole and attaching system do you have for the transducer? Thanks.
@HuntandHookExcursions3 күн бұрын
You might get more picture with it closer range I'm not sure. I didn't try that. I did notice it was a little better image in 10-20 ft of water compared to 25+ I used a mop handle I bought from Walmart and clips. Then I used one off Amazon that was cheap. I didn't like it because it was too short. NOW I'm mounted on the trolling motor. The mom handle worked great. Lol

Looks like the old original Panoptix 22 transducer. If it were me, I would save up for a Garmin. I realize that's not practical for everyone, but I absolutely love mine. Worth every penny.
@HuntandHookExcursions7 күн бұрын
I took out the garmin yesterday, I'd have to agree. This is a great budget friendly option if you don't have the money for the big boys. But it's definitely a good option.
@BennettBuilt-yu2gw8 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been on the fence but believe for the price point I could absolutely setup a portable option for my boats. Nothing wrong with adding another tool to the arsenal. I believe most of us prefer to go catching! I've been debating facing it back while trolling and if I see fish following and not striking I can instantly speed up/down to trigger a reaction. Tight lines, subbed!

Thanks for the comment. It's definitely not a bad product. I'm going to upgrade to a livescope because of the dock fishing a ton. But it's great for boats

If that's fishing then microwaving my dinner is hunting.
@HuntandHookExcursions10 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I'd like your opinion, besides it being live, what makes it different for side scan or down scan? You still have to know where the fish are. Tenkiller is a huge lake. So I still had to search for fish. Imo the only difference between livescope and side or down scan is it's live. They all show you where the fish are.
@callmecamo28 күн бұрын
You're microwaving your dinner because you didn't catch anything. 😂

It is a LIVE feed. That is the problem. You’re saying the worst part and getting outta the way in your question likes it’s not a big deal. It is the LIVE feed that changes the game. A friend of mine who was never near a beast of a fisherman now limits out on Crappie almost regularly. He never did it before now he does it weekly or daily.

If you change the angle of the transducer will you get a bigger picture.
@HuntandHookExcursions13 күн бұрын
No. The lowrance Eagle Eye 9 uses 1 beam of active target 2. You only get around a 45° picture. It's good if you're scanning beyond 30 ft. Down imaging it good for directly under you.

My 7.5ah 12v battery ran the eagle eye 9 live for 2.5 hrs. (Took it from my garmin striker4) I went and bought 2 Dakota 10ah 12v lithium ($100 each)and one lasts me 12hrs running down imaging while ice fishing

That's awesome! In the video coming out tomorrow, I fished for almost 4 hours and it was fine. I have a 30 ah that I'm probably going to put in the boat for the livescope. I'll eventually get 2 more to run all my electronics. I'm very impressed with the 20ish dollar 7.5 ah. Thanks for the comment!

I like how innovative the pole and zip ties was. I looked at my transducer and knew I messed up by not getting the explorer bag and pole bundle 😂
@HuntandHookExcursions19 күн бұрын
It actually worked pretty decent. The only thing I would have really done different is put something so I could tell which way the transducer was pointing
