I'[m afraid I'm not much good with videos as I have a lot of transparencies which I'm gradually putting on Flickr. I took a video in August 2011 of The Jacobite as 16:9 format which plays on my computer as 4:3. Try Windows Media Player, RealPlayer or Quicktime and see what happens. If you're successful you can let me know! Best of luck.

@Bob290547 Thanks very much for the comments on the Harz video. I'm not very sure why it is in 4:3 format as the original plays in 16:9 on my home pc. This has only happened since I changed my video camera. I may have the wrong settings. I have several other videos for upload, but I'm reluctant to post them in case the same problem occurs. Any help appreciated.

As clydeferries said the video should be 16:9 not 4:3. Great otherwise.

I'm not usually critical of others but maybe you could put this widescreen , as it seems to be squashed , if you get my meaning!!

Nice meeting you at Bo'ness the other day John. I wonder how long it will take the ballast to 'weather'?

@trainsurfers I'm not sure how often class 37's actually pass through Crewe now. This video was taken in 2005. I think that DRS still has a depot at Gresty Lane though if that's any help. Thanks for viewing.

How often are DRS Class 37's at Crewe?

@Stube437 I think it's something to do with the length of the track circuits that doesn't permit two engines. The video doesn't show it, but 069 ran around and hooked onto the front of the train, then as 423 ran around, the whole train was pushed back into the station to allow 423 to get on the front.

Thanks for the comments. Falkirk High does not have barriers and you can walk straight onto the platform. On the occasions that I've been there, the staff have been very helpful as well. :-)))

Good Video John, I got a wee bit of smoke in my eye when the Royal Scots Grey blew its whistle. It was even more relevent to me as it was not far from the stabling yard were I remember the Steam Engines there when I was wee.

Thanks very much for the comments. I'm glad the rail service has finally been restored to Alloa, although too young to remember steam, I do remember standing at Alloa West signalbox in the 1970s' watching coal trains.

Great video, not sure about the over- enthusiastic firing but this is a great, historic moment and I'm glad someone took the time to post this. Thank you very much. I remember when steam locos were a common sight in Alloa.

Once the full service is up and running I think it is. I'm told there are 12paths each way for coal in every 24hr period. Not sure of full start dates or time yet tho'. :-))

Hi, thanks for the comments. The general feeling is that it will either be a ScotRail or SPT 170, but you never know....:-))))
