My favorite personal theory about EATEOT is that "Heartaches" represents the memory of a partner that has since passed away. This is why it continuously comes back, why the Caretaker desperately wants to have the memory of their partner, willing to do everything in their power to feel the memory of them. It doesn't leave because of the desperation of the Caretaker, and it tries desperately to persist.
@jackaltroy505017 күн бұрын
I agree, and I'd go further to say that E2 sounds so chipper and upbeat is that the Caretaker has forgotten that they have passed away, and I interpret the post-awareness uses of the Guy Lombardo heartaches sample as the Caretaker mistaking others for the deceased partner.

In this one video, there's even more instances than you caught, they're just not as obvious because the notes are stretched out
@0Mister-Sun05 ай бұрын
I like how the names of songs that sample Heartaches start out as lyrics from Heartaches, but over time, that information is lost. the only evidence of that song even being remembered being reduced to a leitmotif eventually, and the only word left the resembles any lyrics from Heartaches in the titles (if any) is just some conjugation of the word "Ache." But even that is reduced to nothing at some point.

I think you accelerated too much the hell sirens. I think it needed to be accelerated by around 27.5 S. No offense, just making a little correction

i find it so interesting that the same song keeps appearing. they're so desperately trying to remember that one thing, but it keeps fading and getting warped. especially how often it appears in stage 3 shows how important whatever this memory was to them, then after that it's just fragments of the way they remembered it, not always the "real" version.
@decoherence306 ай бұрын
It could be that that particular memory is associated with someone very deep to them, like their favorite song, wedding song, or being in a ballroom

E2 just sounds like the Caretaker is rushing as fast as he can to remember before it all disappears. It just sad how a human could actually go through this but with memories distorting out of recognition.
