I have what looks to be a smeg inspired fridge. I converted it to have 4 taps, it fits 4 kegs. I bought a similar drip-trap but when it arrived I thought it looked hideous and ruined the look. So I bought a glass bathroom shelf and fitted that to the fridge. I removed the glass and replaced with wood as it was too close to the door and it was easier to cut wood than glass. It's also a good idea to fit wood behind the shank and nut. I had to get some quite long shanks to do that but it makes it more robust.

Your instruction video doesn't address how to apply the faucet to the tower. Its either already attached (mine wasn't), or you didn't address it in the video. My faucet threads will not attach with the washer inside.
@jxl180

I just assembled my tower 10 minutes ago. It was *not* as easy to screw on as in the video. I don't know if there is a quality control issue with their threads but I was able to screw it on with some elbow grease. I was nervous I may have been stripping something, but it worked while maintaining downward pressure and twisting pretty hard.

Any special trick on getting the 5/16” barb fitting into the 7/16” flare nut?
@b.e.d.brewing3909
@b.e.d.brewing3909 3 жыл бұрын
Use warm water on the tubing - this will make it pliant and allow you to push the barb into the hose (it still takes effort though.

Where’s the beer? Do I have to buy a keg to put inside? I have no idea how a kegerator will have beer???? I’m trying to learn!
@Papasquatch73
@Papasquatch73 4 жыл бұрын
Yes the keg goes inside and depending on the model determines the size and number of kegs you use. This one in the video keg barrel size is ½, ¼, (2) 1/6, (2) Cornelius. A ½ is equivalent to 165 12 oz cans.

There are power convertors that one can buy. I had the same problem while deployed, couldn't use local outlets, we bought the converters over the counter at electronic stores.

I lost a canister of CO2 because I did not realize how tight the gas connections had to be! Really tight is the answer - unless I was doing it wrong? Seems like there should be better silicone or rubber gaskets or washers to keep leaks to a minimum.

Do you keep your co2 on after you install the keg or do you close the line in between uses?
@LouB3rt
@LouB3rt 6 жыл бұрын
You should most likely keep it open to keep the keg pressurized in case any more of the Co2 from the keg headspace is absorbed into the beer. That would be my recommendation. You always want your keg under pressure or it will tend to flatten sooner. If you are storing a keg try to make sure there is at least 30 PSI in the keg- you can search online how to purge a keg of its current CO2 to change PSI inside the keg.
