Why rig up a pocket camera though. Do you really need follow focus, rails, top handle etc etc on the bmpcc?

They shoot raw. The camera itself is just a sensor, therefore designed for rigging.

What do you recommend for cable management? I have a start/stop record button that goes to my grips, external power source and a monitor and the cords are kinda a tangled mess at times.

Rode mic with 300mm lens? Surely you're not picking up good audio with that?

Surley not :) No Mic will do that in 300mm. But the Rode is pretty good for atmo-sound.

So the speed booster is the only way to use the sigma 10-20

Yes................. Unless you can find a Sigma Micro4/3 lens.............. But any adapter will do, but the speed booster makes up for the cropped framing. But the short answer is still yes............

Hey any problems getting a signal to that Lilliput 665? I had a cheaper Lilliput and another and neither work with the BMPCC. I know it's a known problem, just trying to nail down one that works before I buy. Thanks in advance!

definitely don't suggest recording audio in camera, unless its solely being used to sync sound.

Perfect. Thanks for posting this video as I'm just waiting for my BMPCC to arrive. I've been searching for the necessary add-ons for my rig and this vid was great timing and very useful. Great to just see a rig being set-up. I'm planning to get the following for my rig:- BMPCC (Of course) Tilta BMPCC Cage Aperture VS-3 7" Monitor Zoom H5 Rode Stereo Mic Pro Roxsen Focal Reducer (Speedbooster) Sigma Art Lens (Not decided on which yet) Various cheap C-Mount lenses ; )

this cage looks so cheap. The top handle being attached to a coldshoe mount?? Maybe I am just used to the more heavy duty cages for the BMPCC, or at least something like the Movcam cage.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera has a 2.88x crop factor right off the bat, does using an adaptor to fit those FD Lenses makes the crop factor worse? I know the Speedbooster actually helps reduce the crop factor. But I've read that adaptors make it worse (more cropped) If so, do you have any idea by how much? I heard it doubles the crop factor which theoretically turns a 50MM into a 288MM (on the BMPCC) which sounds INSANE (In a bad way), I don't know if any of this is true, appreciate any help involving these doubts. This video helped, but just to make sure. Cheers.
@horizont-TV
@horizont-TV 10 жыл бұрын
Hello, no - with the FD adaptor the crop facor stays the same. Only the Metabones Speedbooster makes it better. Cheers!

That doesnt look like a speed booster. Looks more like a lens converter mount or speedbooster. Pretty dumb
@KandiKlover
@KandiKlover 10 жыл бұрын
What the hell is a speed booster?
@gearreallydoesntmatter
@gearreallydoesntmatter 10 жыл бұрын
Its an adapter that makes your lenses faster (boosts the speed) it gives you over 1 extra stop of light so your f4 L glass becomes more like a f2.8.
@estradaoct
@estradaoct 10 жыл бұрын
More importantly, the speed booster is an adapter that allows you to mount different lenses, while reducing the huge crop factor that is given by the super 16mm sensor of the BMPCC.
@KandiKlover
@KandiKlover 10 жыл бұрын
Ah so there is a solution to that without needing really short focal lengths that give weird stretched perspectives
