Hi there, sorry for the delay. It depends on the process you go through when registering it. The standard weight limit for one is 3850kg which puts you over the limit for a standard B licence in the uk. I went to direction on legally downplating it to 3500kg which means loads of benefits. My wife can drive it without further tests. We can tow a trailer without have to have an HGV test. My wife can pull a trailer without having to do any test since the change in rules last year. The law considers it a van now and as such you don’t have to stick as rigidly to tachograph legislation.

I made the video and a couple of things could have got be in a legal sticky wicket. I am happy to answer any questions you have. More videos to come this summer.

Any guidance you could offer would be much appreciated...? I have got the V55 new registration form, but beyond the first few questions I run our of answers! As it is a known vehicle surely the more detailed info is known to DVLA? Was going to try private HGV and then camper it later (or not?) - any thoughts? Cheers. M

Totally. I replaced with stainless with a quick dip of copper slip.

I basically found out with enough time to run out and set up the camera. I would have taken my Pinzgauer out for the run if I’d had seen something in advance.

It was about 10 different shades. It had had replacement doors, one side had been in the sun, a rust repair, hammered out doors etc etc. she gets complements all over now.

About a month now. Every trip out is a little tweak here and there. The gear linkage is a soft spot repair video next week.

Will take note. I've found temp gauge sits very low, barely makes it into the green - is yours similar?

Second hand on eBay is the most common. I found new ones by accident once but they were around £500.

agree about the head cam. have stopped using it. trying to show process without having people hang about for ages. There is quite a lot oh traffic noise where I am that sound horrendous when speeded up.

Me too! I’m looking for the best aftermarket stereo for my needs. There doesn’t seem to many with external mics in the cheaper end of the market. Not looked at hand break adjustment. My one will hold on the first click driving onto my trailer. Video coming soon of pad change and then a few on servicing (oil, air, fuel, timing belt)

That’s the plan. Soldering job with a 7 pin clansman plug.

What are you fitting it too? I’m working on a few wiring videos. Split charge, 12v from a 24v system, fitting a 12v fuse box, 12v cig lighter socket, boiling vessel install and wire,etc etc

@@choppergray1 I recently bought a PPV VECTOR (6x6 pinzgauer) which is heavy, so taking off the armour panels and will replace so it looks the same ....dont have your skills, but hoping to do most of it myself. Got a friend doing an engine service first, then repair the hand brake, then hopefully replace armoured windows, then mot time......going to take my time. Might add a winch and some lights (replace headlamps for something better).

Picked up the wooden one yesterday. £60. About 100USD for all four pieces for both sides. I’m keeping it completely military so don’t want to change much at all.

I’m putting it in full military spec and going to a few shows. Half the fun is collecting all the bits and pieces. The back is big enough for a double bed with the seats folded flat.
