i came here for the story, but stayed here for the expressiveness of your eyes... inspired and fascinated :) i built my first fuzz box and reverb when i was 16. never got back into it, but since im deep into synthesizers, im thinking turing machine <3 and i also gave up guitar due to timing issues. My synth journey is semi modular(sound studio, mavis, spectravox) and ironically, i crave a Crave. but my heart is set on the Labyrinth.

On loop for the rest of the day. Oh, those sounds! They remind me of a favorite line from Willy Wonka, "The suspense is terrible ... I hope it'll last." Thank you so much for all the work you put into your art. The process is as important as the product.
@LillySchwartz14 күн бұрын
Aw, thank you for your kind words! I love pushing the suspense until it’s almost too much. Always have to be careful when I use that sort of stuff as a soundtrack for other videos because I’ll make the audience nervous 😂 process often inspires me to push beyond what I’ve done before so it’s really important for me.

Nice development and evolution, thanks for sharing! Could you share a bit more about how you made the high pitched scratchy crackly noise that periodically repeats throughout this track? Thanks! Cheers from north Schwarzwald! 🩶👽

Thanks for listening! If I remember correctly I actually mangled a sample I recorded from my brother’s sound box for that. I’ve been meaning to make a sample pack out of those and a video about the music I’ve been making with that stuff, so there will be a more detailed response in there at some point in the hopefully not so distant future 😅

You channel your madness in the coolest way! The performance is fascinating to watch, as well as the music being awesome. This tune takes my imagination to derelict, decaying starships, space stations and spooky alien crevasses. I wonder what Games Workshop would think of this music as a background to one of their future 40K space horror tales..?

It’s one of those really long term book projects that I have cooking, so I don’t have much to show yet anywhere. I have 3 or 4 drafts half finished trying to find the right way into the story, lots of world building done already. I’ve been chipping away at it for a couple of years already and it’s loosely connected to something I started 10 years ago. Writing is hard to present on KZbin because it’s such a slow and meandering process. 2 steps forward 3 steps back. I love it though.

Thank you for this amazing deep dive into the process of module building, I've always wanted to build some modules and I think I will over the next year or two. I started with sound systems and a fuzz pedal too, but the fuzz pedal failed and I couldn't source some of the parts I needed at the time so my soldering iron started gathering dust. I went for the Behringer Neutron as my first synth because it's as close to all-in-one for what I wanted and pairs fantastically with a midi keyboard and Ableton. Inspired, easily subscribed, I look forward to seeing more of your creations and hearing your music.

I like this video a lot: it's enjoyable as always, and I could relate to so many things! Also my "new" record player (I have it for 5 years now) has no auto-stop, and that really surprised me badly (even my old Lenco dj turntable had that, but stupidly I gave that away decades ago). Now I got used to it. I'm also using BT transceivers to connect my analog audio to the digital world. This video inspired me to spend more time again with all my vinyls as soon as I'm back home - working 220 km from home for most of the week. When I was young, having a decent stereo was a must-have, and I mean stereo verbally. I bought one from my first income from internships. Nowadays the kids and youngsters seem to be happy with just their smartphones for listening to music - no sense for sound quality, I guess. I'll keep on watching your videos, always very relaxing and grounding 😃, thank you 🙏

i totally relate with your experience and i am glad i am not the only person who wanted to build a synthesizer as a kid, but was put pff by maths and poor resources...all i had was a commodore 64 (how i loved making music with it)...fast forward many years, the pandemic forced all of us at home, working from home 9 to 5, i was fed up of playing piano so guess what..i bought a behringer crave as well and felt compelled to start learning electronics to build something to make the quirky sounds that populate my weird immagination...and here i am, like you with a few rows of eurorack modules and a breadboard where i constantly try to fry ICs in my attempt to make something that sounds like a robot that walks into a steel cave full of squeaky flurry bouncing balls with 3 eyes and a big nose (or a big farty giant from mars)XD keep your fantasy alive and all the best. hugs

Hi Lilly, been awhile since we've chatted to one another! Great to see a few new videos on your channel. I haven't been doing too much photography of late...haven't been all that well, so things have fallen by the wayside. But, I have started with producing cyanotype prints of some of my pictures. Just coated some paper today and I'll expose the negatives either tomorrow or the next day. May have to give the paper another coat of the liquid, but that's OK. Might even have a go at some salt prints as well. Got a few good recipes for salting paper, so I may try them all out and see which one works the best. Good to see your new house is working out OK. Hope you managed to get that floor and ceiling worked out and rebuilt! Looks like there's a few good spots to get pictures in where you are now. I'm in the same boat as you with transport. Most of the time I just rely on buses and shank's pony to get around. Might be limiting, but it gets you to work harder with what you've got to get what you want to get. Anyway, that's enough rambling from me. Hope you're well and it's good to see you posting videos😊😊

Yes the plushies. And I always related to Calimero because of the horrible abuse by the Swiss nuns in kindergarten. Long story. I won't bore you with the details. I survived and that is what matters. That’s how I use those videos too. It helps me reflect on what I can improve next time because I can remember the context better. For example, I should have remembered to take a red filter with me for the shots at the end. It’s even more pronounced with street photography. I always notice shots I missed with my POV videos.

If you enjoy modding guitars, Harley Benton, available exclusively through Tomann have pretty good guitars. Many under $200.00 US money. The cheaper ones need some minor work to make an excellent guitar. Five of mine are from Thomann. I like tinkering so I have a lot of fun with them. They have under $500.00 guitars that are very good! Some of my guitars are major brands, but Thomann's prices make it difficult to shop anywhere else. My baritone Amarok came from there. Several players use them for ambient music. KZbin ambient guitar and see what you think about it.
@LillySchwartzАй бұрын
I definitely want a baritone at some point and I was eyeing a Harley Benton for that, so it’s nice to hear that you like that one. Before I get to it I still want to write an album with the two guitars I already have though. Use what you have and all that sort of thing 😀 I’ve also been eyeing their white Mustang with a term? Different thing from the hard tails I have.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😀 I’m working on a couple of projects that will be accompanied by music, definitely. My Progress through Demolition project will have a field recording soundtrack and my project hypnagogia actually goes with a photo project I’ve been working on for a few years already - a few of the pictures have made it into the liner notes already, but eventually I’m hoping to have it turn into a book publication.
