Not taking anything from DeNiro, but Harvey Kietel is a very talented actor. He was at his best in Thelma and Louise and Reservoir Dogs! Taxi Driver was a great movie!

I saw this movie when it was released in 1976 just before I went to Marine boot camp. I grew up in New York and could totally relate to the scenes of the Time Square are or NYC and the character of Travis Bickel. I’ve scene the movie about a dozen times. It’s a masterpiece in my mind and will always be my favorite movie.

It's kind of crazy watching this realizing 43 years after this was filmed DeNiro and Keitel would still be acting in scenes together in movies.

DeNiro can evoke terrifying danger without saying a word. Near the end of this exchange with Keitel it feels like Keitel is seconds away from a possible Special Forces style neck snapping.

OK this scene might not be accurate for today but I bought hookers and dope in the 80's in Manhatchet and this is how the streets looked... no cops, lots of kids, skinny teens, hookers, drug addicts. NYC was a total shit hole.... Wow I love those prices! $15 for 15 minutes or $25 for 30 minutes no condom with a teenager! Gosh that's a great deal! I recently bought escorts in LA and she charged $300 for 1 hour to pretend to be my gf, she put the condom on with her mouth, couldn't speak English and pushed me out of the Hotel Clarendon room 5 minutes before her next "date" . Also 99% of the escort customers at the Clarendon are black dudes like me and if you don't get to bang their p#ssy you know you just got hear from a tranny. No white boys but Im sure they would pay $25 for 30 no-condom minutes with underage Jodi Frosti or the skiiny teen she was hanging out with

He was right. Benny was Carlito 20 years ago but he forgot that Carlito hated his former life and was straight now. So of course he was not going to like Benny.

You can tell how dangerous Travis is when he looks at Sport with pure disdain. He was truly offended at being called un-hip and being compared to a police officer. Robert De Niro is so good. That stare of pure contempt could burn holes through concrete

Most people don’t realize that Sport’s character in this film was the inspiration for Tommy Wiseau’s entire existence.
