These self piercing screws do work, took me 2 seconds to drill them in. Not sure what all the comments are about them not drilling in easily. Installed 2 this morning and all 4 screws drilled in like butter. Maybe needs more pressure than the others were expecting.

Beware, If your pendant has a sconce that doesn't cover the silver disc, you're stuck looking at the disc or the clumsy white cover they give you. Neither are good trade offs. This is good for flush mounts, not pendants😢

The huge mistake would be buying anything with the word "smart" in it, and nowadays if it mentions the word "AI" as well.

What exactly is the purpose of the metal disk? Do you even need that?

I just installed 4 of these to convert some recessed lighting to wide angle wall-wash lights in our living room. It works well, but not without some installation difficulty. First, I could not get the supposedly self-tapping screws to self-tap. I had to use a drill to get those screws installed into the can walls. Also, my homebuilder used caulk around the recessed light fixtures. This caused a problem since the cans were mounted above the ceiling sheetrock. The solution was to remove the caulk with a knife, loosen screws inside the can, and pull it down so it was nearly flush with the ceiling surface. The instructions state that the decorative medallion would be held in place with by the light fixture's canopy. This was not the case since I could not fit the fixture's base mounting plate, which has a flange on it, through the opening in the medallion. The flange would push the medallion up by at least 3/8 inch. It was too large. So I had to use the base mounting plate on top of the medallion in order to make it work. Once screwed down, the plate held the medallion in place, but it had to be carefully centered. Also, placing the medallion against the ceiling left a small, non-uniform gap around it, which could not be eliminated. It is not very noticeable, but this could be improved. Finally, the medallion's high profile outer ring made it very difficult to tighten the screws around the fixture's canopy. You could not angle even a thin screwdriver in to the screw satisfactorily to get it tightened. I did manage to tighten the screws with a tiny screwdriver, some difficulty and extra time. It works, but I would suggest some improvements to the design for more universal use of this adapter.

This is the best thing ever.

For the self piercing screws, use a hammer and a heavy heavy duty nail to make holes. Then Drill the screws in SLOWLY! You have to use the drill SLOW for metal. After hours of trying to figure out how to make this work- this method took me 5 minutes.

While attaching the green grounding wire to the side of the recessed can, it won’t screw tightly, rather just sits there. Is this ok or does it need to be screwed tightly?

I found on my single ended bulbs that one specific end is dead - and the other end is live. I tried it one way and they didn't work. So, I swapped ends - and they worked. I ended up marking all my bulbs - 10 in all, with the word "live" on one end (the end with some mfrs. labeling), and dead on the plain end.

Just got a new chandelier to impress guests this holiday season, but not sure how high to hang it? We recommend hanging it 30-34 inches above the table to make sure nobody bumps their head. 😊

How do I get my canopy to sit flush against the ceiling. I installed one but there is a gap between the wall and canopy.

Why are these manufacturer videos so cheezy? Half of the time they can't even point the camera properly; the hand covers some of the important views.

The canopy wasn’t there the whole time. How did he add it after wiring? It is extremely hard to wire with little to no space.

He pointed out the brass grounding wire and then never talked about where to connect it ???

Tried using regular drill and bit, didn't work. I even tried hammer and 2" nail, this too didn't work! The reason being, there are two can housings, it's pretty hard to drill through both of them. Not sure what are my next options.

The bolt that tightens the bracket is too small and therefore useless. It is not wide enough to to cover the rim of both layers of the bracket. The screw is now stripped from my multiple efforts.

What if the recessed light that i have dont have a can? Mine just slide into the hole and have a clip that holds them in place

What about the lanyards? It says to install them to the plate but not where or how in the directions.

It would have been good to see both ends of the fixtures and also a two bulb fixture. So I could see if wires run in parallel or series.

You can put some rockwool insulation in their around your wires to cut down on drafts in the house. Old cans are terribly leaky.
