Just loved those tricky Scottish wingers in the 50s and 60s. Willie Johnston, Jimmy Johnstone, Davie Wilson, Jackie Sinclair..............Don't think any of them even thought about passing the ball backwards and sideways like team tactics require today.

@ naw, he didnae. He was an annoyance more than a winger and Big Jock knew that Henderson was a better player than the wee Celtic player and picked him for Scotland more than he picked Johnstone. Of course Johnstone would have preferred playing for Ireland like the rest of you papes.

Brilliant video. I stayed in Holland Street just top of the town before you get to Charing Cross. I was 22 years old and would often cross Bell's Bridge over the clyde to my then Girlfriends house in Broomloan Court Ibrox. Loved staying in the toon and hated life with the now EX. This video reminded me of just how much I loved not being broke and alone. Made many friends who were both genuine and like me had the inspiration to better myself - eventually I got there despite it taking nearly 20 years but I got there. 😅😂😅 Still ma,e a point though of visiting hame especially the toon and the places you showed here. Truly a brilliant wee video with excellent descriptions of how the perception of Glasgow life was then. Thank you

I was 18 in 1994. I miss the City Centre as it used to be. It is a complete cesspit now. Looking at this video just hits home how much Glasgow has changed, for the worse. Not a Romanian beggars in sight. Happy days

Nostalgia-driven delusion. Glasgow was a shithole in the 80s and 90s. You can ignore a Romanian beggar, you can't ignore a gang of neds or junkies stabbing you.

I seem to remember this being the theme tune for a FIFA-produced series of several parts - 'The Game of the Century - shown in the run-up to the 1978 Finals. I think the programmes were shown on BBC1 on Sunday late-afternoons from late April through May 1978.
