Anakin wanted to protect Padme so he became a sith, killed all the jedi and was apprentice to Sidious.the saddest thing is that he killed the one who Anakin wanted to protect.

I like the theory that Vader is so timid in this fight because Obi-Wan straight up traumatized him when he defeated him and left him for dead in Revenge of the Sith.

Actually, in Legends Vader opted for being cautious during his final duel with Obi-Wan, since he had already learnt his lesson and he was a little frightened after Obi-Wan caught him off-guard at the start of the duel.
