what kind of action do get out of this fly with the big floaty eyes?
@TheFlyIndex9 ай бұрын
When you use a sinking line, you wait until the fly sinks to the bottom, and then while you slowly retrieve and stop retrieving, the fly swims while moving off the bottom and then back to the bottom. It's perfect for fishing deep in still water without your fly sticking to the bottom the whole time.

That's a good tip, but time consuming, especially for multiple boxes. My hope is people see this and decide to leave the hooks in their original packaging.

I don’t know why your video got recommended to me as I haven’t done or watched fishing in about 20 years, but hotglue the separators down to “seal” the compartments. Kinda like sealing with silica.

@DazzleDash-uc9hs10 ай бұрын
Do you recommend a certain brand of boxes?
@TheFlyIndex10 ай бұрын
Plano boxes are good, but the most important thing is that they have a removable top, and compartments wide enough to hold a variety of hook boxes/pouches, etc...
@fluffybutt110 ай бұрын
So why are feathers used on hooks? Do they get grody after awhile? How do you care for them? I like collecting feathers from our birds and was trying to think of ways to use them.
@TheFlyIndex10 ай бұрын
Feathers have been historically used when tying imitations of bugs and bait fish for thousands of years. Mainly because the colors are good matches for insects and fish, and they undulate in the water much like the things they represent.

Does it have any hivis straps? My current roll top is bright orange and perfect for bike commuting, but it's starting to fall apart.
@TheFlyIndex10 ай бұрын
No, I wouldn't suggest relying on this for any hivis needs. Especially the black version. It has plenty of attachment points that you could add some hivis tape or something.
