Linda - I have long be a sucker for the sound of the virginal and this tune seems to be the perfect selection for the instrument. I never miss the opportunity to click on this channel when I run across it. Thank you.

very nice! I'm curious about the other instruments. Is that a clavichord or virginal on the right? and what type of organ is that behind you?
@drogers4472 ай бұрын
Thank you for listening and commenting. The instrument on the right is a quint Virginal being built right now. It is a copy of a Ruckers Flemish virginal. The pipe organ is loosely based on the oldest playable organ in Sion Switzerland. My husband, Donald Rogers has built all of my instruments. You can see and hear them all on my KZbin channel. ❤

Did this transition from d major to d minor at some parts or have I misread the situation?
@JongleurJ102 ай бұрын
This was beautiful, and had a very marked rhythm. I don't think renaissance music gets the exposure that baroque gets.

I would love to have a harpsichord but to be fair my Yamaha keyboard has a harpsichord setting. I love improvising baroque.

Beautifully played on the harpsichord and great memories of having played John Dowland on the classical guitar. KZbin has me playing Melancholy Galliard at Kent Town Uniting Church , Adelaide in 2012. I have the complete Fitzwilliam Virginal Books 1 & 2, and love listening to this particular period in music. Well down Linda Rogers and what a lovely setting you have surrounded be all those harpsichords and organs.

funny how much this sounds like something out of a n64 Zelda game. It show how modern that peace is, and also how deep the historical knowledge of the composers of video game music can be!

Ah Lady Carey! Poor lady came to such a gruesome end! But she stood up to the trend of the day and refused to change her faith and she prayed for the King Henry VIII. the Careys were long and beloved friends of the Tudors and those same betrayed their friendship for their own pleasure and mad devises!
