Hi, let's say for example you work for a non profit pet shelter organization where you work many volunteer who do not get paid for working there. You are in charge to lead a group of people where they work solely to help and not interested in monetary compensation. In this instance it's very important that you as leader motivate the staff to somehow make people who report to you enjoy thier experience or else they will leave without any repercussions. So in this instance it's very important for leader member relationship being effective. Hope this helps.

Hi Nada, Amazon operates a marketplace where sellers ship products to Amazon wherehouses and amazon charges them premium to store their products and ship to customers. So if you look at this closely a business is selling products to amazon and then amazon in turns sells to consumers like you and I. So the marketplace sellers act as business and they sell to amazon as business so its business to business

Excellent video! I am currently in Year 2 and this helps me a bit more. There is just one section I would appreciate more clarification on which is Step 3: Determining the most effective leadership style. I am just having a hard time grasping this step.

Thanks so much Reta. Imagine yourself as the owner of Tesla, where you have variety of people working under you. You need different leadership style for say Engineers, Technicians, Accounting and Maintennance. Then you have different types of personality of people where again various factors play in and you need to choose appropriate leadership Style. Let me know if you need further clarification

Better but still gives me a headache. Far too complex to be useful in an ever-evolving environment. Also, you stated at point (05:14) that the pizza place had a structured environment?? Why Octant 8? Makes absolutely no sense. According to your description it should have been octant 6

You are correct about the octant8, see the reviews below a lot of people have pointed it out. Yes it gave me a headache to and I have been working 20 yrs in corporate management and could never apply most of these theories :)

Totally agree with you! Thanks for the sincere review. When I finished the book I was shocked that there is a little practical in it. I thought I missed something, and watch extra KZbin videos with this book review - same result. As on of my friend explained to me (who recommended to me this book): it’s more of a “mindset book”, that give you inspiration for action, but definitely not a manual, instruction and “what to do”

I'm sorry that I'm a bit confused here.. based on the pizza example, your leader-member relation is poor, task structure is good and position power is strong. so why did you say it's most effective to choose the octant 8th? why not pick the octant 5th instead which fits perfectly with the 3 situations given?
