Also, did you find yourself going back into the front suspension to put new ball joints in after a while? Very clean setup, thanks for sharing.
@rwebdaddy6 жыл бұрын
@@tedm9865 ya it felt a little stiffer up front but felt more stable. The milage sucks on these things as it is but I'm sure I lost a few miles with a tad bigger tires with all terrain tires on it. I was only getn 14-15 mpg on the freeway lol.. I still to this day still have the same ball joints with no issues. I did have to go back and put a better CV boot clamp on due to the angle of the dangle put more pull on the boot and it slipped off and threw grease all over. And the tires wore evenly.

Chris Ney I love it. Haven't had any problems. You can only fit 265/65/17's unless you put the $300 wheel spacers on it.
@rogerdane32534 жыл бұрын
@@rwebdaddy This is late in the game for this video BUT "yes", only the 265/65s go on... I've had my TB 4WD since '02 with 300K on it and used the smaller 1 1/2" lifts front with an airbag lift in the back... decent clearance and the TB does well up to class 4 roads. Front end alignment has NOT been an issue; shafts has not been an issue; I put on a larger Hodgekiss sway bar in the rear and that helps as the vehicle "is" higher and it is noticed on curves, etc... but nothing extreme. GREAT video Ron.

@@rogerdane3253 where did you find the 1 1/2 inch spacers? I only come across 2 inch and up online
@jlinc117 жыл бұрын
So, it was the CV half shaft that was in the way, when the spacers is mounted to the top of the quick strut. I separated the CV joint and moved the half shaft out of the way, jacked stuff around and got everything hooked up, connecting the CV joint last. Looks great. Hope this helps someone else who struggles with what I did. It's easy if you just pull the half shaft out.thanks all.
@rwebdaddy7 жыл бұрын
Joshua Lincoln sweet. Good to know. Thanks.
@jlinc117 жыл бұрын
I also have a question regarding the front strut reinstall. I attached the spacers to a brand new OEM quick strut, and now it's of course too long to reach where the lower strut mounts by exactly the length of the spacer. I would need to compress the strut it appears, control arm is all the way down. Quick struts are identical to hose that came off of it. Any ideas? I'm no mechanic, just mechanically inclined.
@rwebdaddy7 жыл бұрын
Joshua Lincoln so you removed the quick strut top then put spacer on and put top back on?
@rwebdaddy7 жыл бұрын
Joshua Lincoln or did you buy the space that mounts on top of strut assembly?
@jlinc117 жыл бұрын
I bought the spacers that mount to the top of he quick strut, then the top of the spacer has 3 bolts for mounting to the stock location. My truck already had 3 holes that lined up perfectly.
@jlinc117 жыл бұрын
I bought new quickstruts, mounted the spacers to the top of them, then mounted the unit into the top mounting holes. Just need to reconnect the lower strut mount to what I believe is the CV bolt, otherwise know by me as, the big frigging bolt running thru the metal triangle that the wheel hub is connected to. Lol
@rwebdaddy7 жыл бұрын
Joshua Lincoln then yes your gonna have to compress the struts to get them back in there. My style of lift I had to take strut apart ,put spacer on then squeeze the cap back on.
@tylerjensen81887 жыл бұрын
You had to get tighter clamps for the cv boots? was it because thats how you took it apart? Or because the sharper angle they are at now?
