From 9 minutes on, is that Floyd, or just something that sounds Floyd-ish?

Really don’t mean to criticize but bass tone is awful.
@Thephilmor18 күн бұрын
That’s probably because I was standing right in front of the bass player. And I was hoping for more guitar tone, but the six Fender amps had a Plexiglas shield in front of them, which was probably fine for the soundboard, but not for me. Live music, you only get one chance at it

What is the story here? As best as I can recall the Fillmore became a (God help me) a Howard Johnsons, 50 years ago. Who are these people? They are great.

Thanks for the update. When, I left SF in about 1969, there was a huge sign with Bill Graham, middle finger upraised, and the caption eat at Howard Johnsons. Evidently, they had signed a lease. I never learned that Graham had gotten it back (evidently) and that it had continued as a historic music venue. I Googled it and the history was fascinating. No mention of the HJ episode.

Thanks Thephilmor for recording these shows. These guys are truly amazing and have great hearts. I remember asking Jim many years ago if I could use a song in a small video I did and he said he was glad for me to use it. I knew then their heart was in the right place and truly lived the chill vibe of this music. Love the Stealie hoodie/hat BTW! I definitely hear the The Dead's influence in the Mermen.
