I liked his take on that Krishna wanted to dance with the Gopis, and so they spoke in a way to satisfy His desires. it is also said that the Lord did not really want to enjoy with them, but He just wanted to satisfy their desire . . . I am no arguing for one or the other - I just really appreciate Maharaja's way of describing this subtlety . . .
