It's incredible how much better their vocal harmonies became just a couple years later. Although I must say, I was really impressed with how unique their singing was on this album, pleasantly off-kilter you might say. I'd never heard anything quite like it. I sort of miss it. lol

Yeah, even later that same year their singing had improved pretty dramatically. Still not perhaps traditionally "good", but better. You can hear the singing improve pretty much every year from their start until the mid 90s. I like how laid-back the off kilter vocals are on Up on The Sun compared to the releases that followed.

Thanks for all the MP posts over the years. Many years ago, Derrick was saying this show was at The Patio in Indianapolis (Bostworld post i think). Apparently "Ten-O-One" was some paraphernalia from a local band left onstage. The Patio footage is still here at youtube.

Ah thanks for the correction and the lore, I was trying to figure it out as the copy I got was labelled as Ten-O-One club in Indiana despite Ten-O-One being in Wisconsin. I think whoever labelled it got confused by the banner. Are you aware Bostworld is offline now unfortunately?

These demos you've been posting of late are incredible- the arrangements are at times quite different from the final recordings. Posion Arrow's bridge, for example, sounds very different, and I'm not just talking about the completely different lyrics. Are they even the same chords? Really awesome historical document.

@@Kirreu sorry, I got confused-- I talked w/ Elmo after MPs/Soul Asylum in 2015/6. I saw Meat Puppets in Los Angeles open for RHCP in the late 1980s and MPs did the dress thing toward the end of their set. MPs were a lot nuttier in their early days than now.
