The single oldest local bus in the system. I think this is the first time CS has had the oldest active local bus since 1996 Orion V #1306 back in 2014 (although some 1996 RTS might have been slightly older back then).

1306 was retired in 2013 so that's inaccurate. MTA Bus had a few Ex Bee-Line Orions from 1995 in service during the early 2010s. 1306 (Ex 647) was from 1996. As for now, 4044 is the lowest numbered Orion active though I don't know if it's truly the oldest local unit active.

@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 Also, I always did wonder what was the point of the MTA getting the ex Bee Line 1995-96 Orion Vs? They could have just brought 84 more 2010 NG Hybrids as they were also getting NG CNGs at the time for MTA Long Island bus.

They got them on the cheap when Bee-Line retired them in favor of the NABIs. From what I can find, the MTA wanted to quickly retire the 1990 RTS' at the time.

@ That makes sense as I suppose that 850 bus order (990 if you include the CNG units) was a done deal at the time and they probably would have needed to buy another batch of 100 more units basically that probably wouldn't have arrived unit 2011 (and by then, the 270 BTE bus program would be starting).

Halleluyah!!! This is a another of the comfort sleek fleet none other than the New Flyer D60HF articulate bus for the Metropolitan Transit Authority here originally in the borough of Bronx then over to the borough of Manhattan, Queens along with Neoplan AN60 Articulate bus which operated for the Greater Westchester County Bee Line which has a unique melody of sound coming from their diesel engines which gave their ringing sound plus they were very good performing machine so so much admiration appreciation respect for these videos dearest Melanite brother-man alright😢😢😢😢

I just asked two bus depots a favor via Google Review. I was thinking about the drivers who might complain about having to train with multiple vehicles based on shape. 1. Fresh Pond gives the last of their Orions to East New York in exchange for 2015 XD40s, so they can directly replace their Orions with 2024 XE40s. 2. Castleton gives their four remaining D4500CTs to Spring Creek in exchange for 2021 Prevosts, so they can directly replace their CTs with 2025 Prevosts.

@@jadenmuniz8817 First, that's pretty corny to do that kind of thing. Second, Fresh Pond is already replacing their hybrids at this time and Castleton is not moving their 08 CTs anywhere. Also, all driver are only trained on the Xcelsiors and Novas as of a few years ago.

How can we get the MTA to consider replacing those ugly Aesys Signs with Luminator Titan or Spectrum? In my personal opinion, I personally don’t like Aesys. The font is very ugly and weird. It’s much worse than Hanover and Luminator Spectrum. I won’t mind seeing Luminator Spectrum signed Xcelsiors on the buses painted in the I ❤ NY Livery. For all buses numbered 7572-7613, Destination Sign Replacements should be considered very soon.

The wrap confusion is basically non-existent. Almost all the depots that have both run them however they like.

They don't run all 8 at once during the times they run so its not that big of an issue to send a reserve to cover service.

I just saw 1379 from LaGuardia on the BxM2 to Riverdale. Is it safe to say now that LaGuardia and Yonkers share Prevosts? I also got word that 4247 is retired.

The first for transit were delivered in 1981 (Not counting the demo in the late 70s). These RTS' were the final big order for NYC which were delivered in 1998-99.

Those are always tricky to 100% post as the Staten Island system works a bit differently as buses from all 4 garages tend to loan buses to each other either by lending buses or having a driver from a different garage cover a run. Until I can get something from a verified source, I'm not touching that. Also, man ease up on these suggestions and corrections. They'll eventually come so ease up a bit fella.

I think LaGuardia is no longer sharing Next-Gens with College Point; only Baisley Park now. If you type in LaGuardia bus depot roster, you may come across another source of the buses active and this one does not mention Next-Gens being shared. However their source for Baisley Park does say they are being shared. The latest videos of Next-Gens on College Point routes are all from Baisley Park.
