There is another video of Lee Kong showing three different versions of sanzhan. This version is similar to the 刚 version But with the main addition of 水手 water hands. Can anyone tell me If this version have a name?

Am I correct in saying that, that gentleman kicking the heavy bag and the smaller bag is James Coburn? If my suspicion is correct, he has improved immensely from all those B&W footage of him being taught by Bruce. Immensely.

This is definitely not any of the Wǔzǔquán Sānzhàn (三戦) forms. It seems to follow the pattern of Tàizǔ Tiān Dì Rén (太祖 人 天 地) of Wǔzǔquán but with a Báihè (白鶴) emphasis, rather than a Tàizǔ (太祖) emphasis. An additional difference is that in Tàizǔ Tiān Dì Rén, we only shuffle forward and back, rather than stepping through. Of course, it could be Báihè Tiān Dì Rén (太祖 人 天 地) of Wǔzǔquán but I cannot confirm, as I have never seen it. Regardless, it's a very nice performance.

This Sanzhan is from Zhangzhou's Jieyuan Tang Baihe Quan, with Master Lee Kong's own personal flourishes throughout. The usual version from Zhangzhou is more rigid and uses more dynamic tension along with lighter steps, which is different from the performance here. Unusually enough, neither of the three systems of Zhangzhou Taizu Quan has Sanzhan in their curriculum, so I actually think this form (or at least one similar to it) contributed to the Tiandiren Zhan seen in Wuzu Quan since Wuzu Quan was a product of mixing Taizu with Yongchun Baihe Quan (and other martial arts).

The reason why His fights were never caught on film or in picture stills is because he didn’t want the public to see how violent he was. He always tried to present himself honorably in front of the public so he thought they would think he was a mean guy. But the truth is they would have been far more devastated at how incredible he was. Fir in his real fights he wouldn’t play around and do fancy moves but he would just tear into the opponent. All of those people who knew him and witnessed these fights would not lie or embellish it to make him look better but they say what they saw and no speculation from anybody else carries more weight then that. But the truth is he was even better then you can imagine. For our imagination cannot visualize what took him years to develop.

This is an incredible compilation of real Bruce Lee footage! One the one hand, it definitely proves Lee was a real martial artist and more than “just an actor” as his detractors claim. But on the other hand, there’s no real fight footage here. There’s him kicking and punching heavy bags, which honestly isn’t that impressive. There’s a very little footage of him sparring (which isn’t fighting). And there’s lots of footage of him training with people and doing drills like Chi Sao. There’s literally nothing to show he was the greatest and deadliest fighter in the world. He was just a good martial artist who popularized martial arts through film and started a martial arts philosophy to re-evaluate how we train and what works. That’s enough to make him great without having to invent stories of him being the best fighter in the world.

Bruce Lee didn't want to fight in controlled tournaments because he trained for self defense or to end a fight quickly impairing his opponent and he was the teacher of those who held world titles. @@DinamBigny Couple things. 1. Nothing you said, nor anything in those videos (all of which I’ve seen) refutes anything in my initial post. 2. All of Bruce’s statements against sport fighting were directed at point karate. In fact, Bruce highly respected boxing and according to Joe Lewis considered it to be “real fighting.” He also helped train Lewis for kickboxing fights. 3. The whole “train for self defense and not the ring” thing was debunked by the early UFCs. If you can fight, you can fight, period. Doesn’t matter in the ring or out. All the fundamentals apply. The truth is Lee could have fought in the ring but he didn’t want to. Nothing wrong with that, really, but it doesn’t make him a fighter. He was a legit martial artist, but not a fighter.
