Its kind of surprising how little video there is on youtube that critiques the 08 primaries as they occurred, at least theres this nice hitch vid

Come on. Sackur is doing his job by challenging Zizek's ideas and he does it in a very inteligent way. I wish he'd give his guest a bit more time to answer the questions, but again if Zizek starts he's hard to stop.

Fascinating how he somewhat predicted the facist movement of today's politics, by saying that capitalism seems to works better without democracy. And that Venezuela would and horribly, and the eye of Sauron is now pointing there sending wave after wave of orc atacks.

the host is annoying because he is an imperialist. these types of british people are all imperialist and sure they will try to make a point, however, let's not be naive and think that these people just want the best system - it is the best system because it favors them. Zizek was weak here, a communist has to be aggressive with these fuckers and expose them and spit in their faces because behind this fake moralism hides the most extreme case of expansionism in history.

The interviewer is obviously more concerned with confirming his own biases and propping up his own ideology than listening to what Žižek has to say. His questions were sometimes hard-pressing and that's not a bad thing, but his hostlie attitude and interruptions made this hard to watch.
@ImVeryOriginal7 жыл бұрын
"A man who sees the good in Stalin and says communism is the answer to 21th century ills" ...This is literally the opposite of Žižek's actual views. Misrepresenting your guest so badly right off the bat is a disgrace. Can't believe BBC did this.

Interviewer is a fucking dummy. Did he ever read Zizek's books aside from few articles? Interrupting his guests, trying to put his ideology belief forward. Fucking smug brit. It's like he invited Zizek in order to expose him. But failed tremendously because his intellect is no match to Zizek's brilliancy. This smugness of neoliberal free market loving fucks are atrocious. Got news for ya, smug brit, there are millions of people who don't think that so called liberal democratic (!) capitalism is only existing option.

I really like him his character watched his movie too ...But do not agree that communism would do the Uk any good ...still one the most interesting thinkers of today who dose open people up to think out side of the box and look into inner workings of idea's and for that reason i like him ...but communism just is not the british way i hope its not on that road

"the roots of ging wrong" the interviewer just sees in communism but not in capitalism... "and communism seems to me like anti-individualistic" to my mind pure mass blending ideology, what the hell is individualistic in capitalism - nothing - thats an illusion, why is it that in the worst capitalism all these individualistic movements turn out. capitalism, or ok maybe just in an spectrum, is the dictatorship of the markets... though i think most question asked were critical and good, but too much interruption

This clown who is interviewing him is engaged in a classic propaganda tactic: he sets Zizek up to defend a position and then perpetually cuts him off, causes a switch in topic, and then scrambles the ability to thoroughly elucidate points. Zizek is fucking up by not reading into this and continuing on with his original points.

The story of the "Good Samaritan" is told in a racist manner, stereotyping this group of people as not the sort you would expect any kindness from. So not only is Jesus fictitious but he is a racist, giving us clue as to what kind of cunts wrote this book of bollocks. Mostly Saul of Tarsus, who we note got his big noisy head cut off. (he must have been a cunt) Then the matter of his supposed mother`s supposed virginity; this is simply a matter of tanslation of maiden or young woman /girl, from the Aramaic language that it is supposed to have happened in, then the Hebrew or Greek that it was written in, then the Latin version it was translated into and rammed down all our ancestors throats, then the German and Shakespearian English where we can begin to see it for the nonsensical bullshit and lies that it is.
