I believe even if PRS guitars are made in Indonesia before it goes out to stores it comes back through the California PRS factory to be checked over for any issues, which is very nice.

I"m being negative today! I have the identical dragon fruit. I've had it over a year. In general I like it. There were a few QA issues when new. A wire had looped around the contact inside the lead cord jack so you couldn't insert the lead cord fully. It took me 30 sec to correct. But obviously it hadn't been checked at the factory. And more recently, one of the wires on the neck pick-up disconnected. The wires aren't soldered. Just crimped into a "cardboard-like" base. The crimp let go so my neck pick-up stopped working. Again, I was able to fix it myself.... but I've never had that happen in my many years of guitar ownership. Like the guitar itself well enough. But I do still find myself playing my Strat more often.
@sleeplessguitarguy26

I got mine 1 week ago, and noted so far that due to the small speaker the options you get to match amps, compressors, OD´s and the guitar type you are using make an even more noticeable difference in the results. Checking if the Hi-Z is engaged if you use a hot output pickup also makes a difference. I was struggling to get good sounds out of a strat with a hot Single on the Bridge (SSL-5) and it helped a lot. I found it way easier to get good sounds with moderate output humbuckers. Overall, very fun thing. Cheers!

Fully agree with your smart jam opinion. So far, I'm not pleased by it either, and I am glad to see that I am not the only one with this perception. Got a Spark Go some days ago and still experimenting with it. The built-in speaker is very limited both tone and volume-wise. I considered that many amp models did not sound good through it, but once I hooked the Go to the Aux input of a Yamaha THR 10, all models sounded much better, ranging from good to really great. So far a fun practice device and at least a very portable device to play (and backup). The 40 must be a beast :)
@sleeplessguitarguy26

I agree with you about the small speaker of the spark go. It sounds ok for me but definitely limited and doesn’t represent the tones that the bias engine offers well. It sounds amazing through headphones and plugged straight into my pc for recording. The spark 40 does sound really good. Thanks for viewing and sharing your experience!

Love your playing. Is the Mini worth an extra £100/$100 or is the Go good enough?
@sleeplessguitarguy26
@sleeplessguitarguy26 Жыл бұрын
For me, the Go is good enough. I haven't tried the MIni, but the smaller speaker on the Go probably doesn't sound as good as the Mini. It's definitely not as good as the Spark 40 that I have...but it's still decent. So, if you must have the better sound from a bigger speaker, you can spend the $100 for the Mini. For my needs though, the compact size, the tones available, recording capabilities, and long lasting charge are the more important features. I use headphones a lot as well and the Go sound really good like that. Thanks for viewing and commenting!!

Before I found out about this, I bought the Fender Mustang Micro to use with my Traveller guitar when travelling by plane. But I'm tempted to also get this since there is an external speaker if I don't want to use headphones and its much smaller than my Yamaha THR 10 that I use as desktop practice amp. We are in the age where we can bring our guitar and all our practice gear as a carry on. Does anyone know how this Spark go headphone sound is in comparison to the Fender Mustang Micro?

These are great for what they are intended to do. It puts out a decent practice tone for around the house, or just for warming up. I have a Boss Kat 50. Not very impressive and it's not that easy to use the online interface. And the tone is marginal. Then I got the Spark 40. Seamless, easy as pie operation on all fronts, and it takes zero time to get great sounds. Infinite great sounds, it seems. I haven't tried the auto jam or anything else besides the app online. I guess after I've had it for awhile longer I may find something but at $269, it's phenomenal. It has me seriously playing again. And for live gigging, since it isn't really made for that, if I find a tone I really like, Ill just buy the pedals associated with that sound. Since I don't use too many different tones, it won't get that expensive. But I love this amp and have yet to discover a thing that I have a problem with. Good vid!
