Utterly confusing. Even i watching your video and i do understand what you are saying, and yes i can follow every steps, its just does not make any sense why they put settings into 3-4 different places And i still can not figure it out how to set primitives that i create smaller. Like i am woeking always in a small area. 20x20mm primitives would be the ideal. Now i am dropping 2 cubic meters on my desk, and rezise them all the time. Already got a headache

confusing, so why would I get the Indie version? Also 300 a year, did I hear that right, that's supposed to be cheap? 😅

Yea, I was told by Autodesk support that they had no cheaper alternatives... and yet, I found this a while back and saved several thousand dollars a year. -_-

heads up: the video/audio begins to freeze/stutter during the Houdini section 2:32:20 because the NVIDIA Broadcast software that is cutting out the webcam background and auto-framing the image uses a ton of RTX bandwidth. The solution appears to be disabling my 2080Ti in Octane's Device Settings while livestreaming 💯

I bought into the Maya Indie hype last August and am honestly not sure that I'll renew this year. Why? 1. Autodesk is very clearly still struggling to formulate their indie market strategy. In 8 months alone, Maya Indie has had 3 different price points. First it was $250. Then it was $265. Now it's $280. This sort of waffling should have been done behind closed doors. You would think that they'd have ironed out this issue during the pilot phase. 2. They just as clearly don't want consumers to know about these products either. There's no direct link in the products section. To find Maya Indie or 3dsmax Indie, you either have to Google for them specifically or accidentally stumble onto a site that has a link. They've had enough time to put them on the product page. More than enough. 3. They want you to find the stripped down, equally priced Maya LT instead. Maya LT IS on the product page. If Maya Indie serves the independent & cash poor artist then what purpose does Maya LT serve? If Maya LT serves that market then why buy it when you can go for Maya Indie instead? IMO, there's (maybe) some somewhat sinister corporate logic going on here. They're probably hoping that somebody will NOT Google for the indie version, see this bare bones version, and, unwilling to compromise functionality, will opt for the $1,700 commercial version instead. Giving Autodesk the benefit of the doubt, if this is NOT their plan then it makes me wonder if there's ANY real plan. Having LT and Indie co-exist seems counterintuitive. Personally, I'm concerned that they're not 100% sold on the Indie market. I think that they just want to convert a few thieves and edu license abusers into paying customers. I also think that they want to draw some attention away from Blender, which has become a very credible threat in recent years. I feel that, should the whim strike, they may discontinue Indie as a product line on a moment's notice. Having used both Blender AND Maya, I can safely say that they both have their strengths and weaknesses and will both get the job done regardless. Is Maya Indie worth the price? Sure. How committed Autodesk is to it is another story though. That alone makes me hesitant. I don't want to be part of some test market only to have them pull the rug from under me.

Amazing, happy to see they finally got a more affordable license for the smaller private users or freelancers, kudos to autodesk!

I wish I could make $417/year from creative work to afford it lol. The Freelance industry is ruined by poor countries. People can model detailed car for $40 nowadays. Photoreal rendering became cheaper than Photography.

Huge thanks for such a big 2 hours video! Because I've realized that users can work in Teya absolutely different way I thought. I've added few auto switches and limitations of experimental tools in today's version. Also added changes to the Alpha exporter and checked, no crashes. Please run Teya, it updates automatically, and restart it. Also, I've sent you a message to the email.

Thanks so much for tuning in, Arseniy! I'll post a stream experimenting with the update/fixes very soon. Teya is an amazing program that I will continue to spread the word about.
