Hi, I'm developing a game where a military outpost has been stationed in the middle of a jungle to explore a meteorite hole. It's during the 80's. Is it okay if I extract some sound effects from this video to use?

Odd that a previous owner decided to strip out the 20/100 KC calibration oscillator from the upper deck. It's not like more space was needed for the AC power supply.

As an electronics tech working for the Government, I worked on all that equipment for many years. I was lucky enough to receive a modem like the one show. Today though with all the digital equipment we have, That equipment is old school now.

I do realise that the background noise is there for a reason, but I feel that if it was "a bit further in the background" we would be able to hear your narrative... Very interesting set btw 😊

I have a museum quality KWM-2A with power supply and speaker that I got at an estate sale from a good gentleman, SK. It has military contract numbers on it and apparently never used. The 5U4 and 5R4 and even the fuse holder was in a plastic bag. I use it with the 30S-1. Love it... I was asked the other day what was my "daily radio" and I told them it was this one. I have an iCom 7300 but nothing is like my Collins equipment. I can repair it as required. Some of my Collins equipment goes back to the 30K-1 made in 1947. It had been changed, before I got it in 1975 but the power supply components, even the capacitors, are original and I use it. I turned the 30K-1 into an RF amplifier project shortly after getting it and it has run a pair of 4-400A, 3-400Z, 3-1000Z and 4CX1000A projects. Love that Collins equipment. Thanks for posting. 73 WA4QGA El Paso

This what I had as an emergency radio at Casey Base in Antarctica in 1979. It also had an add-on 2Kw linear PA if necessary. I used it as my ham transceiver to ensure it was always in working order. Used a 20 metre 2 element yagi mostly bare back for schedule with Australia. Also used a rhombic with segment lengths of about 400 metres which put out a whopping signal. I was VK0BC then, now VK4BAC. Unit worked flawlessly.

I used to have a Dovetron!!! It was GIVEN to me. Had been modified for I think TTL output rather than loop. It got smoke damaged in a fire and I tossed it. I WISH I HAD KEPT IT!! I am 75. Got my intro to RTTY at the amateur club at Treasure Island, K6NCG, 68-69, look it up. The club had some 15 gear, and a friend and I went up to the mothball fleet and obtained some 28 stuff and a URA8. If you search K6NCG there are 3 distinct websites, photos of some of that.

Hi Ray! I recently acquired a very nice Navy MAK radio myself. I have been endlessly searching for the TECHNICAL MANUAL FOR NAVY MODELS M0-1 and MAK Radio Telephone and Telegraph Transmitting and Receiving Equipment...no such luck. I was able to find a schematic which is unreadable online....with that said, do you have a source for a decent schematic or TM? Since looking at your video-I have also collected a Heathkit HP-13 PSU that I will be recapping. I am competent to do cosmetic restoration but am just getting into electronic repairs....I carry an amateur license and have some very competent HAM friends...the first quest is a Schematic. Can you point me to where I can find the necessary documentation? All the best! David

The name "PCR" is supposed to mean "Portable Communications Receiver" - so I guess this was based on a different definition of "portable" than the one I'm familiar with.
