Back when this interview was recorded, I was listening to all of Chris's CDs after I was fortunate enough to find them all in brick and mortar stores (the Wherehouse, Tower Records, and Target mostly). Department stores had pretty good music sections back then, and music stores were common. This was back before Amazon was the place to go for obscure music. With all of those records that he made, I needed to keep a checklist of them so I didn't end up buying duplicates. Somehow I succeeded in getting all of them without any duplicates. I was blessed to have seen Chris in concert (with his band, Western Underground) four times before he passed, most of them in small venues. One of them was on the loading dock at a farm near Bakersfield, California. He was always a class act. There is a bronze statue of him at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo arena, and a documentary on KZbin about the making of the statue. It is a wonderful tribute to a man who lived his life well, and touched many along the way.

I Remember one summer day on a Saturday out Casper airport we talk about kids and horses. My wife got made she said you two talk for about 15 to 20 minutes. She said I wondered if you two were friends. First time I met him was at the Ford store in Casper Wyoming. The day that I heard that he passed away. I started driving trucks over the road.

It was much better in the day but, the program was recorded on 1/4 inch tape and it was 20 plus years old when I transfered it to DVD. I was surprised they still had video on them at all.
