Great video, as always. I have a dumb question. Why tie your braid to a leader than have fluorocarbon? Thanks
@sotayakfishing
@sotayakfishing 6 күн бұрын
@@MikeG02061 if you are asking why I don’t direct tie braid to fluorocarbon it’s because I use a relatively heavy fluorocarbon leader. I also like swivels because they will spin so your braid doesn’t twist up and I prefer Palomar knots over line ties if I can get away with it. I hope that helps - thanks for watching!! 🙏

You’re so right about the exciting misses! I had a large Muskie follow my Nikko craw right to my Hobie Lynx kayak as I was daydreaming and just stare me for a moment. I quickly decided to get my lure up and away from him as my light line and rod would never begin to handle him. I just didn’t wanted to hurt such a beautiful fish. The Lynx sits right on top of the water so that was a really close personal stare from a big musky! Thanks for taking us along!! High Noon

@sotayakfishing 21 күн бұрын
@@jensendejesus6629 river smallie froggin’ is the best! I think topwater baits with treble hooks are more popular because they tend to have better hook ups when it comes to smallmouth bass. @@expansioniskeyrn the Carbonlite Glide Bait rod has been fantastic. It’s a powerful rod but also extremely lite. @sotayakfishing

A lot of the smallies I’m getting to bite are from reaction strikes - they seem to like to T-bone with head shots. I think this bait has definitely shown how smallies attack big swim baits with only having that front treble near the head.
