Hi! I just got a used Checker Pig Calypso and want to change the har plate binding to the soft kind. I see that you use soft bindings on your Checker Pig snowboard, and was just wondering If you had to modify your bord to accommodate different bindings or was it something else. BTW AWSOME video and riding.

Awesome video! I actually had a question about a Checker Pig board I was thinking of picking up. I’m 43 and I grew up skateboarding in the late 80’s/early 90’s. My friends and I knew a little about snowboarding, and it was still pretty new as a sport. Checker Pig and Burton were the two biggest companies at the time. In fact my friend’s (RIP Jeremy) older brother got a job at Burton around this time - his name is Dave Schreiber. Anyway we didn’t plan to start until we were 16 and we could get to the mountain ourselves. We ended up discovering the guitar though and everything else fell by the wayside. So I’m just getting back into it and thinking about getting my first snowboard and obviously the sport has turned into what it is. But I just found a 1990 Checker Pig F16 162cm for sale for $300 and it looks awesome. It’s been used and needs new bindings but I think it might be a great choice. What do you think? Would you recommend it? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Only good for the wall or collecting. 300 should be able to buy u something much more modern and easy to use

@@mcbonerjuice Any suggestions for a first board? I skate and surf so I have a foundation in board sports, and I used to ski when I was growing up in the 80’s. I read a little bit on concave, reverse concave (which seems like a board for a more experienced rider) and mix of the two. I wanted to get one board by Capita because of the graphic, but I don’t think it would have been the right one shape wise. I always figured Burton would be a safe bet for a good board.

@@catsooey most big companies make really good boards these days, look for a beginner/intermediate board . If graphics make u smile - go for it
