Matt is an amazingly talented drummer. He can play anything and puts his all into everything he does. He climbs up on his kit and plays them with an intensity like no other drummer I've seen. He is such a nice guy in person. He will always be my all time favorite drummer in the world! 💝🥁

Had the pleasure of meeting this guy in Montreal way back (Doolittle era) and he couldn't have been nicer. He was wearing a Bruins jersey and a leather jacket (with fringe). I'll never forget it.

I consider Grace to be the greatest album of all time. The mixture of ballads with kicking rock songs, covers and original arrangements, profound lyrics and unique sound create the most comforting music. This has to do not only with Jeff himself but with the entire band. Everything Matt humbly speaks about is validated the moment I put my headphones on and play the album. He's such a great player and seems to be a great man too.

Watching this again after Primus just announced Tim abrupty told them he is immediately quitting the band and has lost his passion for playing....sad to hear but I hope he's doing well. Great drummer.

I remember talking/listening to you when you played with Grease the Cat, with George Lewis, Bob Shuster (?) and others down in the basement of a gate house at the end of Bellevue Ave, Newport. Being a drummer myself, I was amazed at how you played triplets with one foot on an acoustic bass drum. When I asked you how you did that, you said "I just do it." Anyway, the next time I saw you was backing up Brian Wilson at the Hollywood Bowl, I think sometime around 2008... might be wrong. Have always enjoyed your drumming.

Too Cool!!!, I did not know that Brooke is PLUSH's drummer. I just saw them at TALKING STICK ARENA, in Phoenix AZ this year. They opened for DISTURBED, "Take Back Your Life" tour, with FALLING IN REVERSE. Ironically, I just started following her on these KZbin channels. I swear, I did not know that she is from PLUSH. That is so cool that I just learned that. And it's so funny to me all around, how I discover things.❤❤❤❤ So Brooke, not only am I a PLUSH fan, but as of recently, your KZbin fan!!! You guys put on a great show here in Phoenix. I would love to see PLUSH again soon. ❤🥁🤘🎸🎤🎧🇺🇸

There's that and the taper. The Fatback taper is really short so you can get a lot more power than you could with a same-diameter, same-length stick with a longer taper. The tradeoff for me is reduced articulation especially when playing light. With enough practice in combining finger and wrist it's possible to play light and fast on these sticks in my opinion. I also like 1A sticks.

John Cowsill had an awesome voice and fit right in as drummer with the Beach Boys for over 20 years. I saw the Beach Boys last night and John was missing from the band. Turns out that he was fired in 2023 (he doesn't even know why, he said in an interview). The new Beach Boys drummer is a total clown who intentionally makes a fool of himself while playing. Twirling his sticks constantly, punching himself in the head while drumming, holding a drumstick in his mouth like a cigar, pretending to stab himself in the head with a drumstick, and worst of all - drumming while holding a little Elmo doll in his teeth and wearing a Cookie Monster hat! This new guy is beyond embarrassing. Zero professionalism! What was Mike Love thinking when they hired this buffoon? Comic relief??

John, I laughed at your story of shaking "Mr. Cassidy's" hand at the hotel, greeting him, and having nothing further to say. I once rode in an elevator alone with MLB pitcher Nolan Ryan. Was I nervous. I turned around to him, looked him up and down from head to toe, and said, "So you're Nolan Ryan?". John, you and Karen Carpenter (Drummer, Lead Vocalist -- Carpenters 1969-1983) share the same birthday March 2nd. Both you and Karen are my favorite 2 drummers. You even played in New Haven, CT where Karen and Richard Carpenter were born and raised before moving out to Los Angeles (Downey, CA) when they were teens.

I didn't listen to a lot of Primus, but now watching this I realize just how much I've borrowed from this guy stylistically off of the few songs I heard him drum on... that's the mark of an amazing drummer and creator if I've ever seen one.
