That was certainly interesting. I know very little about wine or the industry. I'm sure a lot of the process for both are steeped in historical origins. Watching this video brought suggestions to mind. First, I would design and build a turntable to place the barrel on that also has a height adjustment. That would eliminate a lot of the bending a stooping and need to continually travel around the barrel. The turntable would also facilitate the better spacing of the bands esthetically. Second, I would manufacture a device (handle) that could be attached to the head with a low temp non-toxic hot melt adhesive. This would make it easier to position the head . If the device had a cross bar that could be adjusted to the proper depth ( for each barrel) to hold the head in the proper position while tightening the bands, much time and effort could be eliminated. By using the properly formulated temperature adhesive, the device could be removed by gently warming with a heat gun. In fact, on second thought, I'd just suspend the head from an overhead vacuum device. Something like an arm that could be lowered into the desired position.

It is right around the corner from my distillery in Benicia, California. The tour I went on was the best. Thanks, Robert Contreras.
