Not as good as ContentsTrack. Works fully with Xactimate. ContentsTrack has all the descriptions in the software, with type of wood, clothing materials, electronics details (resolution, tv size etc). I did a content Inventory with a 3rd party vendor last week, he used Encircle, i used ContentsTrack. He was amazed, he had to type all those details in while ContentsTrack already has it. And all the descriptions line up with Xactimate when you upload your inventory so you already have your prices set when you do your estimate.

@FirehouseEducation7 ай бұрын
No it does not.
@estebancorral51516 ай бұрын
Bedbugs aren’t the only nasties on your bed. You have to consider dust mites which you have been graciously feeding with your dead skin cells. A steam cleaner will send both to the Big Adios in the Sky. Then use your Hydroxl generator to remediate the vapor content of your bedroom. These creatures maybe tiny but they can put you in a gigantic suffering. Do not adopt a namby-pamby attitude instead go full Gen. Patton on them.

Hi there. I have diaries and journals I'm trying to treat from mold and mildew. These are handwritten journals and of great sentimental value; diaries I wrote since 2008. Is there a way to best treat mold on handwritten paper documents? Thank you.

I would start with a good thorough gentle HEPA vacuum and then I would put the affected books in an ozone or hydroxyl chamber for a couple of days. If you dont have access to one of those you can use a damp cloth with microban on it to wipe down the book a page at a time and then it will be important to dry out very well each page.
@gracecastillo89428 ай бұрын
The only reason the ozone smelled after is because it wasn’t given enough time to dissipate.

Found the ODOROX @ SUNBELT RENTALS FOR $314.49 per day ( after tax and Ins. if you are not a contractor ) Kept it 3 days after kitchen fire that smoked the whole house and it WORKED. As per google: '"Hydroxyls work by ABSTRACTING HYDROGEN ATOMS, thereby dismantling the molecular structure of odors and volatile organic compounds."

The Mr. Clean magic eraser works on fire smoke damage... The RV trailer that i was renting a "room" out was burnt down, and my room was somewhat saved by the fire department they drowned most of my stuff with water. but i saved some of my things... a collection of Deadpool little figurines in a clear plastic Dome , a snap ring tool in its packaging clear plastic, and some other smoke damage items. i have tried to clean them with LA's total awesome and some vinegar, but they didn't really scratch the surface on cleaning the clear plastic, but the Mr. clean magic eraser had no problem at all and didn't have to really work it.

This video could not have come a better time. I came from the hospitality industry and we were always sending pies, and marketing items to the travel agencies and secretaries of some of our top companies. This style of marketing paid off big time. I am trying to implement the same philosophy here in the restoration business. I think it is distasteful to "fire chase" for business. Nothing says I'm just looking for your insurance check than a bunch of buzzards circling a fire. Most departments will refer you for board ups which will get your foot in the door when the client reaches out to you. Taking a food items to the fire stations is a good idea, but keep in mind there are three shifts A,B & C so what ever you are taking make sure you have enough and deliver it on each shifts start day/time. We also look at the area restaurants that have the paper place mats you can advertise on them for pennies. Many catholic churches have bulletins that local business can advertise on as well. Good Luck and stop chasing fires!

First off I would ask which Hydroxyl machine you are using? Brand matters and if it is a professional unit or one off of amazon. Is there porous materials that were affected? if so have they been removed?

Hello. Any advice on indoor plants that have been exposed to smoke from a house fire?
@FirehouseEducation9 ай бұрын
The best thing to do is remove the plant from the pot and remove all dirt then clean the pot. then rinse the roots thoroughly with water and wash all the stems and leaves of the plant to sure the no soot or contamination is left on the plant. Then repot the plant with good fresh potting soil. You want to do this asap so the plants arent sitting in the contaminants any longer than necessary. The give them a good fertilizer and this will give them the best chance of survival.

I have wood blinds , any ideas to remove smoke stains?
@FirehouseEducation9 ай бұрын
The first think to do is clean them by hand as you can ruin them by submersing them in water but you can hand clean them with a simple green heavy solution. If that doesn't work depending on the color of the blinds I would try using a product called greased lightening. But be aware it is very strong and can remove color. You Could also try a product called Wood Craft and I have a video here on my channel on how to use that product.

How do you clean a child's painted bedroom set, after smoke damage due to house fire? Can you??
@FirehouseEducation9 ай бұрын
Depending on the degree of the fire you can clean it. If the fire was heavy and there are any unfinished or raw wood parts of the set then I would strongly consider just replacing it. But to clean it I would use a product called Wood Craft Restorer. I have a video on my channel here on how ot use that product.

Hi Anissa, Would you have any advice for testing consultants to reach out to restoration contractors to preform there asbestos, lead, or mold testing needed for there restoration projects? thank you
@FirehouseEducation9 ай бұрын
Hi Mark! I would absolutely tell you to do just that. As Restoration contractors we are always looking for good reliable testing companies that will give us priority and help us with these types of claims. Be sure that when you reach out to restoration companies that you vet them and make sure they are good and very reputable and focus on telling/showing them what it is you can do for them ie getting to a job quickly, fast testing turn around times and providing protocols if necessary for them. Basically let them know how you can make their job easier.

I would like to emphasize more on the breakage, if there is damage items given we do our very best to wrap and protect the items and still got damage while transporting should we add those damage contents to Non Restorable? Or while in the process of cleaning it gets broken? How are we going to proceed from that? Thanks and hope to hear your advise
@FirehouseEducation11 ай бұрын
If the item was damaged in transport then it would be something that you would be responsible to replace. If it is broken due to the cleaning process then that is put on the non restorable list and the insurance company is responsible to pay for that item.

Hi Annissa! Have you ever had a customer refuse to let you pack their items back in? I have a customer whose carrier ended all storage fees back on July 19th, and the insured still refuses to let us return her items. I don't think her reconstruction is complete because she often complained that she wasn't getting the amount she felt she needed. Now, we are stuck in this disagreement between the homeowner and carrier with neither one of them paying for the 2000 SF of space she is occupying in our warehouse 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ Let me also mention this is a TPA managed claim, so my hands are tied as to the methods I can use. That aside, what would you do in this situation? Any words of wisdom would help, thank you!!
@FirehouseEducation Жыл бұрын
Wow! What a tough spot to be in. First off you need to check the laws in your state pertaining to holding someones personal belongings and what you are and rent allowed ot do with them. Also have you been paid in full as of this point for your invoice for handling the contains? I would probably start with an email to the adjuster on the claim and cc the insured stating the situation that the insured doesnt want the contents delivered back and yet the insurance company is no longer paying the bill so who is? Then if is legally allowed in your state I would send a certified letter to the insured letting them do they have X number of days to either sign a storage contract with you at X per month that they are willing to pay or they have until X to come and pickup their items. Depending on the laws in your state you may also want to talk with an attorney that is familiar with this type of situation.
@lisawagner9575 Жыл бұрын
Very good topic! A clear, friendly reply is always a nice second step to a message like this. Something along the lines of thanking them for the message. Just a quick note that the submission was an invoice, not an estimate, as you said Annissa. Copy the insured. And then ask if there is anything they need from you to facilitate the payment for your completed services. Just in case they need something. It becomes a reminder, and the copying to the insured let's them know someone else is watching the timeline. When I do this with rugs, I generally also send a before/after of the work, just to show them how we saved the item. You could possible include a few before/after photos to stress the professionalism of the expertise. Again, great topic. :)
