Our cat was just diagnosed with diabetes so I’m not sure when we will get to travel again. 😢 When returned from Curacao last month, we came back home and he was not doing well. Took him to the vet and he has diabetes. Right now we can’t even be gone for more than 12 hours due to his injections. We have a pet sitter when we travel but we live in a small town and not sure if we will be able to find someone who will want to give him his injections and manage his diet.

+@bharmarsameer this video was from 2019 and unfortunately most of what you see on this video is dying or already dead. 😢 We just returned from Curacao a couple of weeks ago but haven’t got our videos uploaded yet. The water and current can get pretty rough in this area so if you are a beginner, check the conditions before you go. Most of what is left of the healthy coral is to the right of the beach area around the rock point but it’s further out and deep.

+@rachelsadventures8925 thank you! This one we used a GoPro 9. We’ve actually had quite a bit of problems (underwater) out of our last couple of GoPros and thinking of switching to DJI 5 or Ace Pro 2. 🙃 Everything we use is at the end of the description in every video if you need more details. Some videos we used older GoPros.

+@BOOKKAT74 it’s not a far walk! We edited the video for the walk down but not by much. Garden of Eden is a shorter walk because you can park near it. We have a video of that cenote as well from 2022.

+@juliehunt2385 Sandy Bay is more laid back (less touristy and more residential area) but snorkeling is further from shore. West Bay is usually the preferred snorkeling area for most if you only have one day since there is great snorkeling close to shore. There is also much more action in West Bay for food, drinks, and lounging area. It gets really busy here on port days. Our favorite area is actually neither of these though. We prefer West End and snorkel in Half Moon Bay area! The snorkeling is not as good as West Bay but it’s decent on both sides of Half Moon. There is also more local food choices (and cheaper) in West End. We love to visit Calelus for some baleadas!

+@fabov924 I honestly don’t know. This trip it was closed off for maintenance so you couldn’t walk very far. I can’t remember our previous trips because we usually jump in pretty close to the entrance to snorkel.

+@robertnewman4072 this video was from 2019 and unfortunately I’ve head much of the reef is suffering. We will be back in Curacao in October to check it out. However, you may have this confused with somewhere else as there are no sea dragons in the Caribbean. They are mostly found in Australia. I wish there were because it would be a dream to see one!

+@user-ph6kg4eg9s it’s shallow at the shore but drops off quickly and gets to around 30 feet in the middle.

+@maxrebo1141 it goes from shallow at shore and progressively gets deeper. At the end of the boat dock it’s pretty deep to allow the boats coming in. We didn’t snorkel past the end of the dock because it got murky due to the storm.

+@passionatesnorkeling191 we just came back from Akumal too! We were there May 31 - June 7th.

+@debbiemann2752 the one we stayed in at the time had the most privacy because there was a partial fence around the back yard. Keep in mind this video was taken a few years ago (and we have not been back since) so not sure how it all looks now since they were in the process of building more.

+@travelwithmitsugirly yes, this was taken at the stretch from the pier to right in front of the fort and down just a little farther too. It’s shallow in that area!
