Check if your A/C compressor isnt ceasing. You kight have too little ac fluid and it grinded itself causingnmore friction. Nornally it barely should affect it at all. It doesnt affect my 2.0L XV(Crosstrek) when i turn it on, it shouldnt bog down your 2.5 either.

@@fuze3522 You voildve went for a 5mt Crosstrek. Shifter would feel nice and it would be more practical than Camry ever will. Also 6mt isnt all that bad, you should change transmission oil to Motul 300 and it will be noce and smooth, that plus veing smooth and not too hurried with it makes it quite decent, atleast in my 2012 6mt XV.

I usually get about 25-30 in this one. Maybe you need new spark plugs or your tires are aired down a bit too much. I had a similar mpg issue a couple years ago due to a stuck thermostat which was fixed with a replacement. Hope that helps!

LONG POST ALERT: Anyone who hasn’t decided to own a 9th generation Honda Accord (13-17) - you’re seriously missing out. There’s a reason many of the manual models are hard to clean in good condition LOL Most people who own the 6MT model, tend to drive it very hard. At the very least, they know it’s potential and do still drive spirited once in a while. The 2.4L I4 model is reliable in the manual model for sure, but I’m willing to say that the automatic CVT model would also fare with that if the transmission was meticulously maintained. This would mean no racing, tracking, or towing! People rumor about the automatic transmissions failing a lot, as well as the manuals having their own common issues, but plenty of those problems could have been solved by doing PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE. The engineering in this car has surpassed the older defective Honda/Acura transmissions and engines. That doesn’t mean that changing oils and fluids early won’t do anything for you; it actually does nearly EVERYTHING for you. I personally change my transmission fluid and/ or gear oil with every single engine oil change. And with the motor oil, I also try to change it around the 5-6000 mile mark, if I can watch the odometer accurately and keep track. I use quality oils and fluids. Unless I’m super broke, I still try to maybe get mid grade oil and fluid products. But also, it depends if you have the 2.4L I4 or the 3.5L V6. I’ve driven all of the 9th gen models. The CVT I4 models are ridiculously boring, but is good for daily driving. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, although the I4 coupes and Sport sedan come with paddle shifters, which makes it a bit less boring. The V6 automatic comes with a VCM equipped engine, which spirited drivers and car enthusiasts like to disable via a ECU flash software. This allows the engine to run without running into the issues that arise from VCM, as far as cylinder deactivation and oil issues. The manual model V6 does not come with VCM, which is a great plus, since most drivers with that sportier car, aren’t typically always looking for maximum, optimal fuel economy. If you have the 6MT in either model, you’ll know that the 2.4L is reliable but underpowered if you’re looking to drive fast in a straight line. It’s a great car to build to maybe drive in the mountains or track around. The same can be applied to the 3.5L, but the 6MT provides much much more capability wise, as far as raising power levels far beyond 500+ WHP. The 6AT can potentially handle ~400 WHP or so, but none have been beat on, in fear of breaking. The CVT can barely handle ~300 WHP, so it’s pretty much the same case as the other automatic, but even more worse off.
