Agree! Actual tailoring makes everything looks so much better. I have very wide hips, thick bottoms, thick legs, people would think that I'm a mom but I'm not. All these times I thought I only look good on certain types of skirt until one day, out of curiosity, I took a sewing class. There I found out that when the pattern is specially made for me, the skirt I made turned out very flattering on me.

My boobs are the size of most peoples head. This would be a fabulous skill to pick up as alot of clothes arent made to fit someone like myself right off the rack

But does it push your boobs flat and make them spill out like every other corset?

I am a bit confused as to how this works with the same underbust measurements but different cup sizes. My pattern pieces don’t need to accommodate for width in the rib cage but for cup sizes only. If you draft something like an over bust corset this seams more logical to me but if you have a client with a 32B compared to a 32F this doesn’t look quite right to me. I might have totally misunderstood your concept though and this is a system for setting up a bigger bust standard size ?

I don't have particularly large breasts, but I'm pretty thin aside from them. It's very hard to find things that fit my shoulders and waist without _stretching_ over the bust

Literally...I'm altering a dress for a friend. She went by the size guide and ordered an XL. TELL ME WHY THEY USED THE SAME STANDARD PADS FOR EVERY SINGLE SIZE!?!?!?? They don't dven make sense if you consider the dimensions of what's supposed to be the chest area, even if we assume the person wearing it has small breasts!

Perhaps I'm just broke and I buy cheap clothing but I think they aren't able to correctly produce clothes for smallers busts either, they are always ill-fitting. This is great and very helpful to know, thank you!

Thank you!! As a small bust girl everything does NOT fit me, actually very far from it. Most clothes are produced for a C-D cup, the most common size is A-B, like I get trying to create a middle ground but it doesn’t fit right on the majority then. There should be different bust sizes but brands are too lazy.
@pitepaltproductions8933
@pitepaltproductions8933 3 күн бұрын
Also to add to this, the most common cup size is A-B looking globally, there are different statistics in different countries yet it seems like brands do not take that into consideration either. Again, lazy lazy lazy😭 they don’t even try

Omg yes!! I never have clothes that fit me, they always make them oddly flat? Like, there's no space for the curves to fit properly in place, they move around and it's very uncomfortable.

@@justaydontstray2002 yes, fr its a struggle for big and small. Almost feels like the people making patterns haven’t even seen a woman at this point😂 and if they have, only one😂 For me it’s the opposite btw, it’s always baggy and who tf wants baggy boobs😭 flat or baggy is not not what the majority of the population wants lmao when will the industry get that??

Yes yes yes YES!!!!! I am cup size F (DDD in American) and even when it comes to underwear, it's so hard to find a large cup size bra that actually understands what is going on there!!!!! I gave up on major brands. I found ONE polish lingerie brand that makes things for my size that are both beautiful and fit perfectly! For the rest, i have just resigned to making my cute stuff myself. Unfortunately i can only work with non elastic fabrics, and this limits me a lot, but even professional seamstresses here dont have something that can tackle proper elastics (overlock machines). Im tired of brands not understanding how big breasts work. They either just make everything wides around the circumference without changing the cup area sizing at all, or just add a wide/deep wiring with no extra fabric creating the cup at all. It is all. Flat.

could you name-drop the brand? 👀 I've also been looking for new bras for a while and then I found ThirdLove(??) - a website with bras specifically going up in cup size but not band size!!! - they have amazing stuff but literally only deliver in the US or Canada and well, I'm in Europe 😔 being a polish brand, I'd assume they'd be able to deliver throughout Europe too😭🙏

I’m a tailor, and I gently correct like 90% of my clients when they come in because the way they talk about the alterations they need is by listing ways in which their body is ‘wrong’ so I say, no no no, it’s not your body it’s the clothes. And then I briefly explain size grading and the fact that the idea of everyone being able to go to any store and wear whatever they like off the rack is a big fat lie that just keeps you coming back time and again trying to get it right, but it’s a game that can’t be won.

As a 34 G cup, I started using old bras (where a strap started fraying or some other form of breakdown happened to the bra) on my dress form. One day I finally got smart and really looked at how my bras are constructed. I started using some of those techniques as alternate ways to create shaping for my bust. Never underestimate the importance of correcting a patterned bust to fit you!❤❤

Thank you!! I hope your education can transform the entire industry! I hate clothes shopping so much because of how nothing is designed for large breasts; the rest of my body is a size 6 but if there are buttons, zips, etc. then I have to go up to 10/12 to accommodate my chest. So most of the time, I'm stuck wearing unflattering XL shirts that make me feel so ugly and frumpy.
