@@johnwicked4982 With four days in the resort, you will have plenty of time to explore and see it all! Since you mentioned you like to warm up on a green with beautiful views, I would start by taking Snow Ghost lift, and then the Alpine T-Bar to the summit and Ski the Sun Run to Bullet Express. Beautiful warm up run with great scenery. I recommend using Snow Ghost over Ridge Rocket when you can because they go to about the same place, but Snow Ghost is more efficient. I found Ridge Rocket to have more of a lineup because the Plaza lift feeds it directly, and with many beginners - the Ridge Rocket stops a lot. Since you like black runs, I think you will also enjoy the Gem Lake lift. It services steeper blue and black runs. It’s not as efficient of skiing because there are some cat tracks at the top and bottom, but it does offer a lot of terrain I think you will enjoy. I really enjoyed every part of the resort. I didn’t get to ski off Falcon because of the light snow pack last year early season so the chair wasn’t open yet, but I think it would offer good skiing. I enjoyed using the goat paths off the top of Bullet Express to access the Cliff Chair (amazing scenery on the lift ride up), but I wasn’t comfortable skiing the cliff chair by myself with the light snow pack and steep terrain, so I stayed on the groomed runs after getting off the Cliff Chair. You’ll have to let me know your thoughts about Big White after you ski it! I’m going to start out skiing in Colorado, in early January we head for St Moritz in Switzerland and will also ski more of Italy’s Dolomites while in Europe. When we get back, I plan to ski more of Canada (Kimberly, Silver Star, White Water, and Castle). Then drop into Montana and finish the ski season in Utah. Please stay in touch! Sincerely, James Duke

@YouDecideIsItWorthIt
@YouDecideIsItWorthIt 23 күн бұрын
We didn’t experience any altitude issues when visiting Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. It is pretty high (almost 13,000 feet) (3883 meters), but there are elevators that take you down into the glacier. Also, there is an elevator that takes you up toward the observatory and then there are walkways and stairs to get to the top observation deck (maybe 100 feet (~30 meters) of elevation gain. Carmelita and I both remember the gondola ride from Zermatt to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise as being one of the most spectacular & scenic experiences of our lives! Hope you get to experience it!

I have skied most of the resorts you have featured in your "Is it Worth It" series. Honestly, there are a lot more to most of them than green and perhaps blue runs which make them far more interesting and challenging than you present. It's a real pity that you don't feature those aspects of the resorts. Kicking Horse was the breaking point for me...green runs from the top is a waste of the ride up (unless you only want to have lunch in the restaurant). Sorry for such a negative comment, but I truly think that if you are going to profile a ski resort fairly you have to get off the green runs occasionally.
