A far cry from the days when South Elmsall was the place you had to get to from Doncaster before you could use your saver strip!

Hi Daniel, new Irish subscriber here in Manchester U.K. - while I’ve seen these Heathrow pods before, aside from Dublin Airport, I can’t see why these pods can’t be used for getting from Dublin Port’s Stena & Irish Ferries passenger terminals at North Wall into Dublin City Centre - currently, we don’t even have the LUAS trams going all the way to the Port (only as far as the Gibson Hotel/02 Arena) and not even DART Underground - arriving off the ferry from Holyhead on SailRail, we usually have a lot of luggage, so this would be an ideal solution for us rather than the cramped buses they use, as there is not even taxis operating to/from the port

The Adelaide O bahn is better as its much faster and totally grade separated from all other traffic and pedestrians. So no at grade crossing other than in bus interchanges. No traffic lights within the obahn route itself.

Seems like an OK system if used with electric buses. (Wonder if they could charge up on the Bus way if the correct equipment could be fitted)

How sad to rip up a railway and replace it with this mess. Soo slow too.

I don’t understand why the guided part of it was ever needed and why it couldn’t have just been a tarmac road, there are that many breaks in the track that it’s hardly relaxing for the driver plus as some in the know the speed limit is low because buses had a habit of de-railing 😂. Typical TFGM wasting money, the X34 wasn’t much difference in time

World's first personal rapid transit. Thought that was called a car. This cost 30 million pounds, will never cover it's cost and replaced a bus, probably electric, that made a profit. It only serves people flying business class (twice the CO2 of economy) who have driven to the airport. Greenwash or what.

Seems to go very slow for a busway, surely it could go 50 to 60 since there's nothing to collide with, assuming the guiding is up to the same standard as other areas which do these speeds?

I note by the industrial estate on the left, the remains of what looks like a station platform...what was this? Also further on, what looks like a station house and remains of platform?

Walked the length of the guided busway from Ellenbrook to Leigh many times now. One of the most successful transport projects of recent times. I use the bus too of course! 🚌
