It’s not a “Reese bass” it’s a detuned saw patch

a reese bass is literally just a detuned saw though

@@ellesper exactly. It’s a stupid name because it existed decades before that song

Regarding stereo using unison - you can reduce unison stereo to mono on the global tab - this gives the advantage of detune always being centred around the root note, rather than second OSC being 30cents up (effectively detuning the root +15cents from true pitch). This also frees up the second OSC and gives some options with the stack modifier too. Also for reese stuff I imported the original virus saw as it has a bit of fizz/harmonic content, snap, and a slight sine curve

Huge inspiration mate! I overlooked the global tab, and this solves so many issues! Great tip about importing the virus saw too, there's something about that early era of reese's which is hard to replicate... Thanks for the advice🙏😌

Hi Jon!
@krisissupercool13 ай бұрын
if you like the sound from detuning in the default stereo, you can also address what Jon is speaking of, in the global tab without altering the stereo in the global tab. If the root is 15 cents + in the Oscillators for example, in the global tab you can subtract the whole patch 15 cents, bringing you back to center without shrinking the stereo field. There are advantages to doing it the way Jon speaks of, but sometimes, cool sounds come about in the default settings.

Rift in light mode?! Blasphemy! Speaking of multiband distortion, there is a multiband function in Rift as well, altough not as tweaky as Trash. Have you got to use it much? Great tips and tricks here, was a good watch.
