Yes,we have that thing in WT Taekwondo but if you want know, we can’t use that strike in the sparring competition because of the rule. So,if you want to know more about WT Taekwondo ,I think you should watch poomsae and also watch how to apply it. I hope you understand it

Good to see a WT practitioner actually knowing that kicking above their own face height is ridiculous... oh wait, there she goes, kicking at some imaginary giant. (Insert triple facepalm here coz one even two are just NOT enough)
@alaing.b.54213 жыл бұрын
Yes yes, you are completely right, keyboard "warrior" 🙄, if people practice kicks above their head is for improve their body control. When you are able to kick that height with such facility, you could also kick at head, torso or legs as easy as walking.

@@jetsparrow3171 okay okay, you're the supreme ruler and have rights to tell everybody what they have to do. If that is useless for you, it doesn't mean that will be for someone else, just let people train however they like and think that works for them. And if your kicks training is not above head and works for you, glad for you! you're free to train however you like :D

@@gerardomarcelino9839 this is taekwondo, not karate. This might be AXION taekwondo, but it sure isn't actual taekwondo. There are better moves for different situations. Of course a form (kata or poomsae or anything else) doesn't dictate how one should fight in a real hostile encounter, but it doesn't have to. All I am saying is that the application of the moves presented is wrong in the traditional mandate of Tae Kwon Do (as it's known globally).

The inside middle block is not a block, or a strike. Traditionally, it is a way to practice standing arm bars, without a partner. The chambered hand is grasping their wrist, and pulling the arm to waist, and the bone of your forearm, is applying pressure to their elbow, and tricep. To straighten the arm at the elbow, tor the break. Most of the "so called blocks" are actually joint locks, bars, and throws. Lazy teachers, and Mcdojos are the reason that nobody is taught this anymore. All of my Taekwondo students know the original, and effective applications, of every single movement in their Poomsae. Its sad, that even this video is very wrong. They dont know the real applications, so they just make stuff up, to fill in the blanks.

I noticed the finishing blocks as strikes as well. But in reality, no TKD sequence ends with a block, so their interpretation is correct. A Maki done well can break an arm, break a jaw or crush a cartoid artery. It just depends on how you train them.

im not saying that their application is correct but if u really look at it the "blocks" are really not meant for blocking a lot of traditional martial arts has this sometimes its application is lost through time

without being too critical, 2 applications are incorrect, one is groin strike which actually leads to a throw, 2nd is the so called energy movement is infact a rear bear hug defence, someone performs bearhug both arms come up to release from grasp. These have been lost through teachings, I was lucky to be taught by Grand Master David Jordinson RIP
