I don't switch ends of the paddle as I imply in the video. That is a screw up. Sorry.

What valley boat are you paddling Sirona or Etain?
@datapro0073 жыл бұрын
Hi, Matt, The orange boat is my Aquanaut RM while the yellow boat is a Avocet RM. Do you paddle a Valley? Which model?
@mattdelcomyn80123 жыл бұрын
@@datapro007 thanks for the reply! My first boat was a valley NordKapp. Paddled it for years in the Seattle area. Then was going to move to Colorado. So sold it. But never moved! Now many years later, I'm back in the market for a more "relaxed" boat, and being a lover of Valley boats - I'm drawn to the Sirona. Which supposedly is a blend of the Avocet and Pintail??? Anyway - your boats looked like the Sirona, so was just wondering! : ) I liked your vid about the Greenland paddle forward stroke. Thanks!

Bow rose nicely. Video a treat.

My sweep isn't correct. The anchor hand should be on the hull at the start to keep the paddle horizontal instead of vertical. I learned this recently by watching a Dubside video.

I was thinking about buying this tent for bike camping but see that its largely been withdrawn from the UK market, wondering if its because of problems in windy conditions reported here?
@datapro0074 жыл бұрын
Hi, Malcolm - I think it is a little bulky for bike camping. It has acceptable performance in windy conditions for a lightweight tent. I'm a kayak camper, so I get exposed to high winds that you're unlikely to encounter on dry land.

Any new thoughts after using the limelite a while?
@datapro0074 жыл бұрын
Hi, Phil, I like the Limelight. I primarily kayak camp on Georgian Bay. Therefore, the possible negatives are the difficulty of setting up in high winds and that it is not especially rigid. I did have it collapse on me once. That being said, I use it in rather extreme conditions. Otherwise, I think it is a fine choice, depending on your purpose.

Marmot limelight seems to be the biggest bang for your buck, logical tent for me this upcoming backpacking season. Cheers from Wyoming.
@The-GreenHornet4 жыл бұрын
I've had my eye on the Marmot Limelight. What originally sold me on it was the tent poles go up vertically for about a foot before angling, which really gives more room. Also I like the color option of the dark green/grey color for blending in with the environment around you for stealth camping. It's going to be just me, but I like the extra space for a couple of reasons. 1. For my pannier bags to be brought inside the tent for security reasons. 2. If I have to hunker down during a rainstorm I won't feel so trapped inside with the extra space.

I ended up buying the Marmot Tungsten 2 tent. Quite a bit lighter with similar benefits that I mentioned earlier about the Limelight. Much cheaper too.

were you able to identify what the problem was?
@datapro00712 жыл бұрын
Hi, Damien, I still own three of these. Two of them are still functioning well. The oldest is having some unfortunate symptoms. These are big, low quality monitors. They are ok if you get one that works. I recommend the Asus PA248Q or Dell U2412 as a better bet. Best wishes and best of luck with your new monitor. Let me know how it works out.
@damocash198012 жыл бұрын
I just bought one of these second hand on ebay, pick it up tomorrow. Do you still have the monitor? If so how is it these days?
@datapro00712 жыл бұрын
They are low budget crap for those like me who were suckered by size over quality.
@datapro00712 жыл бұрын
I too went with the ASUS PA248Q. Mine was fine, and I'm loving it. Sorry to hear about your headaches. It can happen with any monitor, It is the company's response that makes the difference.
@datapro00712 жыл бұрын
I've standardized on the ASUS PA248Q. It is a fantastic monitor for the money. It uses the same LG Phillips panel as the Dell U2412M. I went with ASUS because it has a 4 port USB 3.0 hub and HDMI input, which the Dell lacks. A "bumper-to-bumper" three year warranty is included. So long, Hanns G, with your lousy customer service and phoney 3 year (actually only 1 year if you read the fine print) warranty.
@datapro00712 жыл бұрын
@Cat - this monitor is a roll of the dice. They are fine if you get a good one. No customer service if you get a bad one. Best of luck.

I know you definitely aren't the only one that had problems with this monitor. I'm very happy you got it fixed though! I'm in the market for a 27'' or bigger monitor, thinking about this one.

Please have a look at my other videos. First of all, this monitor is under warranty. So if you want to repair it yourself, you break the seal and void the warranty. Second, Hanns took many weeks and two attempts to repair this monitor, replacing every single part inside the housing before it was fixed. So things weren't as simple as you're suggesting.

@01Revanche Hi, Rev, Feel free to comment again should you become coherent. Meanwhile, I recommend you purchase a slew of these wonderful Hanns G monitors. Regards

Offcourse i don't want to question your intelligence wright away? But dit you ever think about that every LCD monitor has problems whith the pixels when you put power on them?! So that's not a fault by Hans G! It is your fault! Everyone who new something at LCD monitors nows that you can,t put pressure on the monitor!!!!!

@mrkeith557 The Dell is the same resolution (WUXGA 1920x1200) and is on sale from Dell at $299.
@datapro00713 жыл бұрын
@mrkeith557 How about the Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24"? It's an IPS panel at TN prices. Plus it is LED backlit instead of CCFL, which means it uses far less power and lasts way longer.
